FALL NEWSLETTER
There are so many things to be thankful for!
Fall 2023
Principal's Message
Our school year has gotten off to a great start! I would like to thank everyone for their participation in our Student Led Conferences. As a building, we had 98.7% attendance for this event! I truly believe that a partnership between the school district and parents is key to student success.
The second quarter is off and running, we are transitioning from fall sports to winter sports, and the weather is as unpredictable as ever! This is always a busy time of year so I hope this newsletter will allow you to plan for our upcoming events. As always, if you have any questions, please feel free to contact the office and we will gladly clarify any of the included information.
I would like to wish everyone a very Happy Thanksgiving! I hope each of you have the opportunity over the coming weeks to rest, relax, and spend time with loved ones.
On behalf of the entire staff, I would like to thank you for your continued support of our school district and look forward to the year ahead!
Sincerely,
Steve Horn
Middle School Principal
GLOW DANCE
November 17th will be our first dance of the year. This dance is hosted by our Student Council and is open to all students (6-8th grade). This event will be held in the Danby Cafeteria from 6pm-7:30pm. Admission is $5/student or $4 with two canned food items. There will be free snacks and drinks and glow gear is available for purchase. PLEASE NOTE: Any student who receives ISS or OSS during the second quarter is ineligible for the dance.
GRANDPARENTS' DAY
On November 21st, we will be hosting our Grandparents' Day event. Grandparents are invited to join us from 2:10pm-2:40pm. We will have refreshments and games for all who attend! A form was sent home with students on November 8th to RSVP for this event.
CANNED FOOD DRIVE
Our annual Thanksgiving canned food drive is off and running! Our Student Council has coordinated this event. Students are encouraged to bring canned/non-perishable food items into their advisory classes before November 20th. There is a competition between grade levels and advisory classes to see who can collect the most! The winners will receive a prize. If, as a building, we can collect 3000 cans, all students will be rewarded with a movie day. This is a great way to help our community!
