The Fabulous Month Of February

The sun rides higher

Every trip.

The sidewalk shows.

Icicles drip.

A snowstorm comes,

And cars are stuck,

Though road salt flies

From the old town truck.

The Chickadees

Grow plump on seed.

That Mother pours

Where they can feed,

And snipping, snipping

Scissors run

To cut out hearts

For everyone.

February is known as the month of love and with love being the great commandment, it ought to be at the center of all and everything we do in our own family, and in our livelihood. Love is the healing balm that repairs rifts in personal and family relationships. It is the bond that unites families, communities, and nations. Love is the power that initiates friendship, tolerance, civility, and respect. It is the source that overcomes divisiveness and hate, and it is the fire that warms our lives with unparalleled joy and divine hope. Love should be our walk and our talk. The greatest joys and the greatest sorrows we experience are in family relationships. The joys come from putting the welfare of others above our own. That is what love is. And the sorrow comes primarily from selfishness, which is the absence of love. The ideal for us is to form families in the way most likely to lead to happiness and away from sorrow. We build deep and loving family relationships by doing simple things together, like family dinner and family home evening time and by just having fun together. In family relationships love is about time. Taking time for each other can be the key for harmony at home. We talk with, rather than about, each other. We learn from each other, and we appreciate our differences as well as our commonalities. We establish a divine bond with each other. Feeling the security and constancy of love from a spouse, a parent, or a child is a rich blessing.

With Love,

Valentine’s Day occurs every February 14. Across the United States and in other places around the world, candy, flowers and gifts are exchanged between loved ones, all in the name of St. Valentine. But who is this mysterious saint and where did these traditions come from? The history of Valentine’s Day–and the story of its patron saint–is shrouded in mystery. We do know that February has long been celebrated as a month of romance, and that St. Valentine’s Day, as we know it today, contains vestiges of both Christian and ancient Roman tradition. In addition to the United States, Valentine’s Day is celebrated in Canada, Mexico, the United Kingdom, France and Australia. In Great Britain, Valentine’s Day began to be popularly celebrated around the 17th century. By the middle of the 18th, it was common for friends and lovers of all social classes to exchange small tokens of affection or handwritten notes, and by 1900 printed cards began to replace written letters due to improvements in printing technology. Ready-made cards were an easy way for people to express their emotions in a time when direct expression of one’s feelings was discouraged. Cheaper postage rates also contributed to an increase in the popularity of sending Valentine’s Day greetings. Americans probably began exchanging hand-made valentines in the early 1700s. In the 1840s, Esther A. Howland began selling the first mass-produced valentines in America. Howland, known as the “Mother of the Valentine,” made elaborate creations with real lace, ribbons and colorful pictures known as “scrap.” Today, according to the Greeting Card Association, an estimated 145 million Valentine’s Day cards are sent each year, making Valentine’s Day the second largest card-sending holiday of the year.

Did you know that many of our 17th century poets from England were known as metaphysical poets? One of those poets included John Donne (Jan 1572-Mar 1631) who was also known as the chief of the Metaphysicals. Others included Henry Vaughan, Andrew Marvell, John Cleveland and Abraham Cowley and to a lesser extent George Herbert and Richard Crashaw. There work was a blend of emotion and intellectual ingenuity, characterized by conceit or “wit” that is, by the sometimes violent yoking together of apparently unconnected ideas and things so that the reader is startled out of his complacency and forced to think through the argument of the poem. Metaphysical poetry is less concerned with expressing feeling than with analyzing it, with the poet exploring the recesses of his consciousness. The boldness of the literary devices used – especially obliquity, irony and paradox – are often reinforced by a dramatic directness of language and by rhythms derived from that of living speech.

The Magic of Flowers

Violet:

Violet is the color of Spirituality. It is the color of people seeking spiritual fulfillment. Purple represents transformation, creativity and spiritual awareness. It is a protective, wise and a royal color. Purple is associated with intuition and the mystical side of life.

It helps us align ourselves with the Oneness of the Universe, knowing we are powerful and in control, yet keeping us “Right Size”. The Crown Chakra is about wisdom and being one with the world. Violet flowers symbolize delicate love, affection, modesty, faith, nobility, intuition and dignity. The meaning of the violet changes depending on the color of the flower and the person the flower is sent to. Blue violet flowers symbolizes love and faithfulness, white violets represent purity and chastity, and yellow violets symbolize high worth and goodness.

Primrose:

The primrose is another flower said to have symbolic connections with the month of February. Like the violet, the primrose is one of the first to bloom and indicating the forthcoming of spring. From the Latin primus, meaning “first”, the primrose is a symbol of courage, as it faces the stark, cold conditions of winter in its early phases of life. Many cultures have used this flower meaning as a sign of beauty, purity, and refinement, including the Norse and Celtic. Thus, the primrose also brings these sentiments to the general symbolism of February. It is perceived as evident of delicate beauty and enriched states of happiness and blissfulness.

February Birthstones:

Amethyst

In the ranks of crystals with metaphysical properties, few are as famous or as distinctive as amethyst. One of very few stones with its unique purple coloration, amethyst is a variety of quartz that contains iron and other trace minerals within its structure. Just like Fluorite, Amethyst is a meditative and calming stone which works in the emotional, spiritual, and physical planes to promote calm, balance and peace. It is also used to eliminate impatience.

Amethyst is one of the stones that was most highly prized in the ancient world, and continues to be prized by many people today. Amethyst is found all over the world, with some of the most precious deposits still found in the vicinity of Greece, Italy, the Middle East, Brazil, Uruguay and Northern Africa.

An Amethyst Stone is good to have by to help you find the words to say in difficult situations. Rather than feeling like you’re about to trip over your own tongue, you’ll instead be happily surprised with how easily you articulate ideas of peace and mediation

January Horoscopes

Aquarius:

Aquarius-born are shy and quiet, but on the other hand they can be eccentric and energetic. However, in both cases, they are deep thinkers and highly intellectual people who love helping others. They are able to see without prejudice, on both sides, which makes them people who can easily solve problems.

Although they can easily adapt to the energy that surrounds them, Aquarius-born have a deep need to be some time alone and away from everything, in order to restore power. People born under the Aquarius sign, look at the world as a place full of possibilities.

Pisces:

Pisces are very friendly, so they often find themselves in a company of very different people. Pisces are selfless and are always willing to help others, without hoping to get anything back. Pisces is a Water sign and as such this zodiac sign is characterized by empathy and expressed emotional capacity. Their ruling planet is Neptune, so Pisces are more intuitive than others and have an artistic talent. Neptune is connected to music, so Pisces reveal music preferences in the earliest stages of life. They are generous, compassionate and extremely faithful and caring. People born under the Pisces sign have an intuitive understanding of the life cycle and thus achieve the best emotional relationship with other beings.

Tarot of the Month

Christina:

For the month of February, our 3 card pull will address the 1st-10th, 11th-20th and 20th-29th! First up, we have the Queen of Cups, quite suiting for the month of love and emotional Pisces which we enter on the 19th. The picture on this card shows a beautiful woman, dressed in a gown that could be a wedding dress. She is holding a cup between her hands as if she has just been given this by someone in front of her. She has lovely long hair that is braided, and she wears pearls around her hair. She wears an elaborate head dressing and her entire focus is dedicated to the cup she is holding. She is standing beside the ocean. If this is you, then you may be about to get married or even have your first child. You are sensitive and caring and very family orientated. You are immaculately well groomed and have great pride in your appearance. You could be about to achieve a position that is very dear to your heart. If this is not you, then someone you know already, or whom you are about to meet, who is described by this card is about to enter your life and make a huge impact on your lifestyle. In the middle of the month we see the 7 of pentacles. The picture on this card shows a woman with a basket, ready to reap her hard work. She is in a garden overflowing with healthy foliage, and in the background are mountains. She is obviously a hard-working woman going about her business, yet with an eye to the future. There are seven coins on the card depicting that he will gain financially from her efforts. There could also be a bonus in the near future for her. If this card represents yourself, you could be about to start a new job or earn an extra bonus in your pay packet. Or perhaps someone may actually assist you by guiding you towards a lucrative financial investment. You may also distance yourself from where you now live to earn a new living. To end the month, we see the Queen of wands. The picture on this card is of a woman wearing beautiful clothes and a robe, with a wand in one hand. She looks serene and calm. She is obviously a woman of considerable power and influence. She also appears warm and welcoming. She has lovely long hair and blue eyes. She displays an air of sophistication and strength. If you are this woman then you have truly found your destiny. If this is the woman you are about to become, then rest assured your future is secure and you will find all of your needs met. You may also be about to meet someone very special with whom you fall in love with and marry. This may develop during the warmer months of the year, as in Spring or Summer. If this is someone you know, then value her friendship, for she is loyal and trustworthy. If you are a male, you may meet this woman through a friend and become involved with her in a romantic relationship. If you are a young person, this person could be your mother or a teacher, or both. This month will be filled with love, hard work, blessed finances, security and creation. The last full month of winter will bring much joy and strong emotions. Open your heart to the miracles that February brings .

Questions and Counsel

Katelyn:

Dear Katelyn,

I am in love with someone else’s boyfriend. I feel like I should tell him, but I feel bad. I don’t know what do, so I sit on the sidelines and watch.

Sincerely,

Lonely in Love

Hi Lonely in Love,

I appreciate your question being short and to the point. It speaks to your pain and confusion. Rather than focusing on what you should do, let's focus on what you shouldn’t do.

  1. Judge yourself for how you feel. In situations like this it is easy to tell yourself you are “wrong” to feel this way, or how you feel is “bad.” How you feel is simply how you feel. So, you are in love with someone else’s boyfriend…human things happen.
  2. Invalidate your feelings. There is so much truth in how you are feeling, and usually a bigger picture to be explored. Ask yourself, “why am I in love with someone who is unattainable, unavailable, who isn’t in a position to value me?” and what does that say about you and how you are currently loving yourself.
  3. Scheme to end the relationship. This one is simple - do you ultimately want to be with someone who leaves his girlfriend for someone else? Or cheats? Or uses another woman on the side to fulfill unmet emotional needs?

You’re in a tough, emotional spot and I understand that. I appreciate your honesty and vulnerability. This part you just have to appreciate is: if it’s meant to be then it will be. Live your life, love yourself fearlessly, make plans to take the world over, and see what happens. I don’t have to be psychic to know who you are meant to be with is someone great, even if it’s not him.

Light in Love,

Katelyn

Spiritual Practices

Diane:

February is mostly known as the month of love and romance. Here are a few simple spells to help you attract love and a mate or to add spice to an existing relationship.

Cut red or pink construction paper into the shape of a heart. Inside the heart write down all of the qualities that you want in your mate. Dress the heart with attraction or come to me oil while visualizing this person appearing in your life. Imagine how it feels to be so happy and loved. See yourself living the life that you've always dreamed of with that special someone. Visualize yourself doing all of the things that you want to do with your new mate. Keep this talisman next to your heart. Continue to dress it with oil weekly while visualizing the love that you want. Be specific but do not visualize an actual person. Remember that everyone has free will and that it is not ethical to violate anyone's free will with magic. Perform this ritual weekly until you are in the relationship that you want.

Vanilla is known as an aphrodisiac. Wearing vanilla-based scents attracts love.

To add a little passion to an existing relationship, share a hot cup of desire tea with your lover. Desire tea consists of black tea, 1/2 teaspoon of lemon juice, orange juice and dried mint, a pinch of coriander, 1/4 teaspoon of nutmeg and 3 cups of water. Steep the ingredients in the hot water for a few minutes while charging it with your intention. Strain it and sweeten as desired. Enjoy this lovely brew together.

Lastly you and your partner can rub cinnamon oil into a red candle while thinking about ways to spice up your love life. Light this candle before you go to bed.

Greetings beautiful souls

Today I would like to talk about the ascended masters

Some of you may know of them, but most know these two, Mother Mary and Jesus

They are known as ascended masters because they lived a life on earth just as we are doing, but they mastered their lessons through many lifetimes and their last lifetime became known as the ascended master Mother Mary and Jesus.

There are so many ascended masters that are here just to help humanity

To help us elevate ourselves to raise our vibration

Angels help us with that as well, but the masters have lived in a human body just like us and had to struggle and master their emotions

I would love to introduce you to a beloved master

St Germaine and the violet flame

There is much you can google and read about this master; it would be too long to write it all down here

But what i would like to share with you is just how simple it is to use the violet flame and how effective it truly is

Sometimes we feel intimidated, we think we must say some long-complicated words

I tell you it is very simple

The violet flame is an energy a cold fire that transmutes any darkness and discord

You only need to see it in your mind’s eye

You can say thank you St Germaine for this gift of the violet flame

Help me clean within me any negativity

Help me heal any discord between me and .... coworker family etc.

Anyone you would like the relationship to be more harmonious.

I have told people about the violet flame, some thought it was too simplistic how could it possibly work

But they always came back to me smiling because it truly had done just that

Each day they practiced it and every time it helped

So, sending love out to another in the form of the violet flame truly heals

You can also visualize it as you take a shower

See the water as this flame

Bless everything with this flame and visualize it cleaning entire buildings, cities or even the world

That is how powerful it is

Remember always to thank St Germaine for this blessing.

You can also ask to visit the amethyst cave at night as you sleep

It will restore you

I am reminded some years ago as i was driving having many things on my mind and feeling very burdened

St Germaine said to me loud and clear

"Did I not give you the amethyst cave, it is there you go to cleanse yourself"

I smiled as it was a reminder to clean my energy field

So, my friends let us practice in the new year and use this wonderful tool St Germaine gave us

What comes to mind when someone talks about Meditation? Sitting still, being focused, having a quiet mind or maybe reaching a higher level of consciousness?
Meditation is a practice that should be done with a peaceful mind without thinking about what’s going on around you. It should be done in a place where no one will interrupt. This will help you focus during your time of meditation. Many people find it difficult to do this and will stop halfway because they believe they cannot concentrate for any longer period of time as their thought process has been interrupted.

Your mind is the most powerful tool for achieving relaxation and promoting positive changes in attitude, perspective or your feelings. Imagery is the language that your mind uses to communicate with your body.

When you say, picture stressful and negative events, you mind acts and your body reacts which can result into stress.

And when you say, picture or think about relaxing and loving experiences around you, your body can respond by loosening up and releasing chemicals that make you feel more positive. This can all be a game of mind and body.

Here are a few Visualization Techniques that can help you overcome mental and physical barriers.
●Choose a peaceful environment where you feel completely relaxed.
●You can sit or lie down with your eyes closed. Breathe deeply and relax.
●Starting with your toes, remember to put your attention on each part of your body in turn and tell it to relax and let go of any stress you are feeling.
●Now, imagine a
green light or healing energy all around your body. Feel it traveling in and around your body; sense it and enjoy it.

●If there is a particular part of your body that has been ill or is in pain, ask that part of you if it has a message for you. Remain quiet for a few minutes and notice if any words, images or feelings come to you in response to these questions.
Try your best to understand and follow it. If you don't get an answer its okay, just continue with the process.
Now send special loving and healing energy to that part of you, and any part of you that need it, see it or feel it being healed.
Picture the problem dissolving and flowing the negative energies away, all tensions draining gradually.
Imagine yourself in a perfect, natural health. Picture yourself in different situations where you feel very active and energetic to perform playful activities. Imagine nurturing and caring for yourself so you stay healthy.
Any of your particular body part which has been ill or is in pain, you can know the ultimate reason for the underlying root cause of a negative pattern which causes physical illness.

You can practice these affirmations daily before going to sleep at night in front of mirror.

Mirror work is the best practice. While saying you need to feel and believe in it that it has already been healed and you are feeling way too better than ever.

Here are some common affirmations which can be practiced daily to maintain your health.
●I love and accept my body completely.
●I am very healthy and active.
●I am loving and healing myself on all spiritual levels: Emotionally, Mentally and physically.
●My immune system is very strong.
●I am very energetic and full of vitality.
●I deserve to be healthy and feel good.
●I am learning to take good care of myself.
●I give thanks for my ever increasing health and vitality.
