Size
China is 9,596,901 square kilometers, making it the fourth largest country in the entire world. Since China is such a large country this will make it a much more difficult target for another country to come in and attack and fully conquer the country.
Population
At 1,355,692,576 people, China has the largest population in the entire world. Because China has such a large population they will have a large working population. If the working population is very high then their economy will be strong and having a strong economy will contribute to many different things like a strong military, less poverty, and an overall well united country.
Education
The literacy rate, meaning people who can read and write over the age of 15 in China, is over 95%. This is an important aspect of the country's unity because the literacy rate will determine the next generation of the country. If the next generation of the country is in fact literate then there will be a lessened rare of poverty. Meaning the economy will be strong.
Military
China's military branches include peoples liberation army, ground forces navy, Air Force, and second artillery corps. About 2% of all of China's funds goes into the military forces. There are 618,588,628 people in China that are fit to go into the military forces.
Physical Features
China's terrain includes mostly mountains, high plateaus, deserts, and deltas. China also has the worlds largest hydro power system. The seas tha border China include the East China Sea, Korea bay, Yellow Sea, and the South China Sea. Since China is mostly mountainous and is bordered with many bodies of water it will make it hard to cover a lot of land quickly.
Economy
For the past 40 years China has been turning the country into a more market oriented country. In 2010 China became the worlds largest exporter. The unemployment rate is less than 7%. With a good economy china doesn't have to borrow money from other countries so they will be in little or no debt, in fact countries usually owe China money.
