Molecular Probes 3D Cell App
Students can explore cells with the Molecular Probes 3D Cell App app for iPads. In addition to accessing video content, users can create their own cell image.
This completely free app is full of interactive features that will complement instruction in the biology and life sciences classroom. The colorful diagrams and easy to navigate interface make it a great resource for students exploring core content.
CREATE A BACKCHANNEL - WITH TODAY'S MEET
2. When you and your students visit the TodaysMeet backchannel for the first time each user is prompted to enter a nickname to get started. I suggest having students use their first name and last initial.
3. Students can type in messages as frequently as they would like but are limited to 140 characters per message. You might set up a procedure for writing messages or have students only respond with keywords – it just depends on the task you have for that day.
4. To save the transcript from the chat you can click on Room Tools at the bottom of the screen. This is a great option if you’d like to hold on to information that can be used as formative assessment to help you group students later on or gauge misconceptions from the whole class.
The Berlin Wall HD
In the Social Studies and English Language Arts classroom students can benefit from visuals and interactive text to help making meaning of the past. The Berlin Wall HD is a free iPad app that presents informational text, primary source documents and interactive maps on the screen. Students can tap, zoom and explore this period in history.
The Berlin Wall HD is a great choice for teachers introducing this time period to students. Whether it’s a clear part of your curriculum or something that helps students better understand a piece of historical fiction, The Berlin Wall HD is worth checking out.
