Grade level meetings to review expectations
This week, Mrs. Ugo, Assistant Principal, met with all grade levels to review expectations again with all grade levels.
Topics included:
- Be kind to one another
- Listen to all adults
- Bathroom procedures and our disappointment with the continued destruction.
- Use appropriate language in school
- Be a positive student
- Summer school requirements if students receive an F on a report card.
- Eligibility reports for sports, clubs, and activities.
- Tardies and consequences
- Hands-off policy: just playing around, just joking is not acceptable. Everyone should keep their hands to themselves.
- Walk on the ride side of the hallway during passing periods
- Wearing masks properly and bringing an extra mask.
- Cell Phones-not allowed during the school day and discussed consequences. Reminded students that if their parents receive text messages from them between 7:45-2:30 they will receive a consequence: the phone will have to be picked up by the parent and the student will serve Saturday School from 8 AM -11 AM. We have phones in the office if a student needs to call home. Cell phones should be in the student's locker during the school day.
- Social Media… be safe and do not share passwords.
- Lunch -walk with a purpose to get there on time.
- Buses -wear your mask, sit down and stay quiet. The bus drivers’ job is to transport you from house to school and school to house in a safe manner.
This week's meetings were the third time this year, we have discussed school-wide expectations with our students.

Personal Hygiene
The social pressures for adolescents are great, and bodily changes can be a source of anxiety for some. Growing adolescents have an increased need for attention to personal hygiene: regular bathing, washing and wearing clean clothes, wearing deodorant, etc. In an effort to stay healthy and avoid uncomfortable social interactions, please discuss the importance of personal hygiene with your student. See the attached website for more information related to adolescent hygiene needs: Hygiene Basics (for Teens) - Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago (XML) (kidshealth.org).If you have any specific concerns about your students, please do not hesitate to reach out to me.
Thank you!
