Newsletter #48

Welcome, Summer!

May and June have been busy, busy, busy here at Goodness Grows! Our crew has been deep into planting, watering, weeding, and....the best part...harvesting! Our strawberry crop has been coming in beautifully. What a great feeling it is to have our very own berries turned into Jungle Jam and Juicy Jam!! Woohoo!!!

Mission Groups Return

Big picture

Thank you to Canfield Presbyterian Church for always being a wonderful Mission Trip partner! CPC brought Youth Group members out to Goodness Grows this week for the first Mission Group Work Day since 2019. What a blessing to be able to once again welcome a group to the property, to share what we do here, and to work together on a beautiful summer day! These hard-working folks helped us with one of the wood's trails. They cleared away branches and laid mulch to help make the trail more accessible for all.

If you have a group (or know of a group) that would like to come spend time working on projects with us here in North Lima, please send them our way. We love and appreciate volunteers!

In the Community

Our schedule still isn't as busy as it had been before the pandemic began, but we are pleased to be getting back out to some shows and events. We have already been at two Youngstown Fleas this season and will be back out there on July 10 from 9am-3pm. This Saturday, June 19, we will be set up in the village of Columbiana for the Chamber of Commerce's Block Party. Come see us for Jungle Jam and Juicy Jam!

Time for Summer Interns

Everyone at GG was excited to welcome Cameron Fortune home when he returned in May. This is Cam's third summer with us and we hope he returns for many more! (Forever would be nice, but no pressure, Cam!)

Outdoor Work & Play

You're always welcome to stop by to see what our GG crew is up to. We're here Monday-Friday from 9am-2pm. Volunteers are appreciated! If you like to spend time in nature and feel the satisfaction of working in the soil, we are the place for you! During the growing season we are always in need of people to weed and we often have other projects to work on as well. Check out some of our spring activities in the pictures below. As you can see, we have fun together no matter what we are doing!
