KINDERGARTEN BOOK PARTY
As a holiday treat, Mrs. von Vital's class had a Book Exchange Party! They read The Gingerbread Man, and each time the word "RUN" was said, the students passed a wrapped book. In the end, every child went home with a new book to treasure!
PUBLISHING PARTY IN 6TH GRADE!
“Teaching writing is a matter of faith. We demonstrate that faith when we listen well, when we refer to our students as writers, when we expect them to love writing and to pour heart and soul into it." ~Lucy Calkins
Publishing Parties are an annual tradition for Pine Run’s 6th graders. The concept, championed by educational leaders such as Lucy Calkins, gives students an active and integral role in celebrating their writing. This year our 6th grade teachers and their classes celebrated with a coffeehouse format (hot cocoa, sweet treats) aka PINE RUN STYLE! Students shared personal narratives as parents and peers listened in. The Pine Run Pride was palpable!

MINDFULNESS AT PINE RUN
Your MIND Changes Your BRAIN: Your BRAIN Changes Your MIND
Understanding Childhood Brain Development: How to Unlock Potential.
Dear Families,
Parent Positive is proud to welcome Dr. Jay Stone, PsyD to our parent speaker series. Dr. Stone will be presenting on Wednesday, February 1st at 7:00 PM in the Lenape Middle School Auditorium. His talk will focus on:
Understanding Childhood Brain Development: How to Unlock Potential.
Join James J. Stone, PsyD, Doylestown Health neuropsychologist, to learn tools and strategies to help nurture and maximize your child’s potential. The presentation is designed to help parents understand how their child’s brain processes information at different ages, how skill sets evolve developmentally, and how to translate that knowledge into appropriate expectations of their child. Parents will leave with strategies to empower their child to complete tasks at hand, and an understanding of when to encourage them to try on their own, and when to step in and help.
Registration for this free event is encouraged but not required.
Babysitting is available for children in grades K - 6 and will be provided by CB High School National Honor Society and Key Club students. Drop-off for babysitting will begin at 6:30pm and pick-up will immediately follow the program. Please share the ages of children for which you would like to have babysitting. If babysitting service is needed, pre-registration is required.
This program is part of the Parent Positive Speaker Series, a collaboration among Doylestown Health, CB Cares, the CB School District, and the CB Family YMCA.
