April Review
A big congratulations goes out to our most recent students of the month, Pyper Flaig, Liam Rau, Amanda Parins, Vikram Bangalore, Maddie Van Ryzin, Carson Leyer, Sofia Salko, and Silvio Lanza.
On the 17th, the 7th grade students put on a fantastic World Issues Fair. I want to thank Mrs. Pabst and Ms. Bartlett for their hard work they put in to make this learning opportunity unique and challenging for our students. The students do an outstanding job researching, writing, and presenting on current sensitive world issues.
Two days later on the 19th, the 8th grade had their annual Reality Store experience. It is a blast to see students select a job, get a monthly budget, and go table to table to learn about life. They find out how much insurance, child care, groceries, and much, much more cost. Watching them balance a check book and realizing that their money doesn't go as far as they thought is a fantastic learning experience. Thank you to Mrs. Mathias for organizing this financial literacy learning opportunity.
The month ended with the 6th grade putting on a World Culture Fair during their social studies block. Students researched countries of their choice and specifically focused on a couple essential questions. Many students also brought in food from the culture and the school staff was well fed on the 27th. Thanks to Mr. Jackson for providing this project for our students.
Our final PBIS initiative was the message of finishing strong to students. We are giving away a gift card a day to a lucky student who has been positively recognized for following the Falcon Way. Mr. Dimmer once again put some our acting abilities to the test. You can see the video in the embedded link below.
Important 8th Grade Information
The permission slip and money for the promotion party at Rockin' Jump in Brown Deer is due Friday, May 11. If you have misplaced the permission slip and information you will be able to find it in the upcoming Falcon Flyer.
Your student should have brought home a diploma list with the spelling of your student's name that will be on the diploma. If you want a change, please let Mrs. Badura know in the main office. If you have not seen the list yet, again please contact Mrs. Badura in the main office, (262) 376 - 5805.
Finally, the last day of school for the 8th grade is on Thursday, May 24. Students will have class activities in the morning until about 10 and then we will have a rehearsal practice. After rehearsal practice, students will be released for the day. There is not transportation provided for students at their early dismissal time (usually around noon).
Students are then to return to school and meet in the choir room at 5:45pm for their class picture. The promotion ceremony will start at 6:30 and lasts about an hour. The party at Rockin' Jump then begins at 8:30. The Rockin' Jump party ends at 10:30pm. Transportation is not provided to and from Rockin' Jump.
