CACFP UPDATES
CACFP Program Year 2021-2022 (PY22)
Application Processing
» TDA can only process complete applications; only complete applications will be reviewed for accuracy.
» Incomplete applications will be returned to the CE without any review for accuracy having been conducted.
DUE DATES: We recommend submitting your application by:
» August 15, 2021 if you are notified that you are a Tier 3 Renewal, and/or if you are a Dual Sponsor (a sponsor of Centers as well as Day Care Homes).
» August 30, 2021 if you are a sponsoring organization, a Tier 2 Renewal, and/or are making significant changes to your previously approved application packet.
» September 1, 2021 if you are an independent center and/or Tier 1 renewal.
IMPORTANT:
» If you wish to participate in the CACFP for PY 2022 you MUST SUBMIT AN APPLICATION (only complete applications that have no errors will be approved for renewal) FOR RENEWAL via TX-UNPS NO LATER THAN SEPTEMBER 30, 2021.
» Submitting an application after September 1, 2021, may delay advance payments and payments for claims.
» December 1, 2021 ALL CACFP renewing CEs must have an approvable application submitted; CACFP renewing CEs whose applications that cannot be approved as submitted as of December 1, 2021 will be declared Seriously Deficient (SD).
2021-2022 CACFP Reimbursement Rates
The USDA has released the CACFP reimbursement rates for 2021-2022. Rates are effective from July 1, 2021 through June 30, 2022.
NOTE: All Sponsors are reminded that per 7 CFR 226.16 (g) & (h), they are required to make payments to their centers and/or providers within five (5) working days of the receipt of their claim payment from TDA.

“And Justice for All” Poster
Due to the impacts of COVID-19, the Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA) will not be taking “And Justice For All..." (AJFA) poster orders through TX-UNPS and will not be distributing posters to contracting entities (CE). Locally printed paper copies AJFA posters may substituted as necessary.
Contracting Entity Instructions to Review Your CE Profile and Apply for Waivers
- Click the link below to open the CE Compliance Profile spreadsheet and find your CE name.
- Review your Profile.
- Identify any waivers that you may still need to apply for.
- Apply for any needed waivers.
Handbook and Forms Revisions
Section 4000, Managing the Program of the CACFP ADC, CCC and DCH Handbooks have been revised to reflect new crediting guidance from USDA as well as additional guidance for sponsors related to monitoring, corrective action and adverse action. Additional changes to formatting and section arrangements have been made as well.
Affected areas are highlighted in the handbooks.
Reference the revision numbered ADC 19-05, CCC 19-05, At-risk 19-04 or DCH 19-06.
