Habit #3 - Put First Things First
The last habit categorized into the personal victory group is Habit #3 - Put First Things First. Putting first things first encourages students to prioritize so that they spend time on things that are more important first. Once a child decides what is important and takes care of it first reduces the level of stress. At Trombly we use a school planner. That tool is a great way to organize school work and create a plan. Also, modeling this behavior is a great way to teach your child.
This habit can be applied at home. Create a list of the things your child needs to complete throughout the week, With your child, rank each task in the order of importance (you may want to rewrite the list in order of importance). If needed, use a calendar/planner to schedule time so that the important things are done first.
