MONARCH THEATRE PRESENTS
The Greek Mythology Olympiaganza
October 13-15th at 7 PM
Two battling narrators attempt to cover the entirety of Greek mythology using audience participation, silliness, and general theatrical insanity. Famous myths such as Pandora's Box, Jason and the Argonauts (the original Super Friends), and Hercules: Intern God jostle for space with obscure, weird myths such as the myth of Linus and the legend of the Argus. Culminating in a bizarre, musical dance-influenced version of The Iliad complete with a full-scale battle of little green army men, this play is wild, silly, and a complete blast for audiences of all ages.
Tickets available at door or at mohitheatre.ludus.com.
BOND INFORMATION
The 2022 Critical Needs Plan outlines a strategy for investing in all BVSD schools to address major maintenance needs in aging buildings to extend their useful life; replace New Vista High School; plan for enrollment growth; create more Career and Technical Education opportunities; and make it easier for students of all physical abilities to enjoy our playgrounds. Please view this video from BVSD’s Superintendent for more information. Also, please see the Critical Needs specific to Monarch High School.
YEARBOOKS
For the portrait pages of the yearbook, our staff uses names provided to us by the school, which are pulled from Infinite Campus. If a student uses a different name than currently appears in IC that they want to appear in the yearbook, please complete this form. This form should not be filled out for students who go by a nickname ("Tommy" instead of Thomas) or for students who go by a shorter version of their legal name ("Ben" instead of Benjamin). Because of printing deadlines, name change requests cannot be accommodated if this form is not completed by Nov. 1.
Students are back at school making new memories with their friends! Make sure to order the one book that captures the activities, spirit, and unique qualities of our school. Visit jostens.com to order the 2023 Yearbook by October 21st for the LOWEST PRICE!
PICTURE ORDERS
PARENTS…..if you missed out on ordering a school picture package and would like to place a late order, please call Studio 5 School Portraits at 970-674-0520.
PORTRAITS FOR ALL
“Portraits for All” believes that every high school senior deserves to have a high-quality senior portrait that they are proud of. We connect students who aren't in a financial position to pay for a portrait session with professional photographers in their area who are willing to donate their time and talent. Any rising high school senior in the Boulder/Denver metro area who qualifies for free or reduced lunch or can demonstrate financial need through another avenue (such as referral by a high school liaison) is eligible to request a session. We will do our best to match you with a photographer if one is available near you. For more info go to:
GUEST SPEAKERS
Monarch offers a 9th and 10th grade AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) course which is an elective college preparatory course(s) that purposefully prepares students with the skills, courses, and experiences to successfully attend a four-year college upon high school graduation.
AVID focuses on presenting students with career and post secondary opportunities which includes having monthly guest speakers share their journey and work experiences. This would include a time commitment of approximately 45 minutes for a group of 40 students.
If you would be interested in being a guest speaker, please complete the brief form linked.

Hello Monarch students!
Do you want to be a teacher or a school counselor? Does the idea of getting two years of free tuition, books and fees sound good? If so, then you should apply for the Teacher Recruitment and Education Program (TREP)!
To get into TREP, you have to take one college level course while still in high school and fill out an application (due March 30th). Once accepted, you’ll receive two free years of tuition, books and fees at Metro State College, Front Range Community College or Colorado State University at Pueblo.
Please fill out this Interest Form by October 10. By completing the form, you're not obligated to apply for TREP; your contact info will just be added to an interest list.
Next Thursday, October 13th during Access, I'll be hosting an informational session about TREP in the counseling center. Be there!
