Wow! What a start of school it has been. We hope that each of you has weathered the storm and are getting back to some sense of normal. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families that have been impacted and we will do all we can to help our community. We want you to know we will spend much of our time this week re-establishing routines and loving on our kiddos. We know that even those who may not have suffered a loss, still have experienced a traumatic event, and we will support our students in every way we can!

Gifted and Talented Information
5th Grade GT screening for placement in Junior High PreAP/GT classes: Paperwork about GT screening for Junior High will be sent home with all 5th graders the week of September 11th. Secondary Parent Checklists will be available upon request from the front office or online at the GT/Advanced Academics Department website. Secondary Checklists are due by 4:00 pm on Thursday, September 28. This is a change from the published due date due to school missed during Harvey. No checklists will be accepted after September 28. Screening takes place throughout the fall semester, and final placement decisions are mailed home the end of January. Kindergarten GT screening: Information regarding screening of kindergarten students for the gifted and talented program will be sent home with kinder students beginning the week of September 11-15. Kindergarten parents who would like to refer their children for screening must return the Kindergarten Parent Checklist to their campus by October 3, 2017. If you have questions, please contact Jodi Foreman via email at email@example.com.
*Drop-off each morning begins at 7:55. Students are counted tardy after 8:20. We ask that if your student is tardy, you walk them into the building to get a tardy note.
*Parent Drop-Off line begins behind the building on the southeast corner, by the gym. The drive goes around the back of the school all the way to the front. This is a one-way road. (See traffic map) PLEASE DO NOT PARK IN THE PARENT DRIVE.
*Walkers should follow the signage, and stay on the sidewalk. They will enter the building by the bike racks.
*Dismissal begins at 3:30, with students exiting at 3:40.
*Parent Pick-Up will form 1 line on the Parent Drive in the right hand lane. Please enter from the rear of the building. Please do not get in line until after 2:45. You should be in line by 3:40 to avoid having to come in and sign your child out.
*Bus Riders: The first few days the busses will arrive later than normal. All kinder students must have a parent at the bus stop to exit the bus.
*Walkers and bikers: Will exit the building on the southeast corner by the gym. If you are picking up a walker or biker, please meet them at the park on E. Ventana Pkwy. Walkers will not be released to parents on school property.
