Principal's Update - Mary Quigley

Ellen Goodman offers the following thought for our reflection....“We spend January 1st walking through our lives, room by room, drawing up a list of work to be done, cracks to be patched. Maybe this year, to balance the list, we ought to walk through the rooms of our lives...not looking for flaws, but for potential.”

As I reflect on 2015 at WAS, I remain in awe at all that was accomplished by the children, the staff and our PTO who was actively engaged in so many projects. In our community there is so much potential. Thank you for your support of our school and the district. Enjoy this time with your families celebrating holidays that create memories that you will think about in 2016.

Report Cards are now available in the Parent Portal.

WAS PTO President's UPDATE Michelle Lease

Wishing everyone a wonderful holiday season! As we come to the end of 2015, I would like to thank all the wonderful parents who make WAS such a special place...we are so fortunate to have such a dedicated group of parent volunteers! Have a wonderful break!

Thank you from the PTO

Beth Kneebone, Beth Burton & Carrie Hillengdorff on their hard work facilitating the centerpieces and ornament process in our Give Back Give Thanks Campaign.

Claire Young for running the luminary fundraiser. Cara Haid for brightening our concert stage with pretty poinsettias.

Kindness Corner-"Give Thanks & Give Back" Holiday Campaign

Our students spent their recess last Monday making ornaments for the residents at Garden Terrace Nursing Home. Today they will complete their last “Give thanks. Give back.” project by writing letters as part of the Macy’s “Believe” program. This has been great way for the children to give back during this special time of year. Pictures of last week’s activity are below.

Just a reminder that the CHS Sophomore Class is hosting a Winter Party for elementary students on January 16th at the high school. There will be games, winter crafts, and face painting! There will also be baked goods and pizza to eat! Along with that, there will be raffle prizes that the students can take a chance on.

The entrance fee will vary based on how many raffle tickets a student's parent would like to purchase. The prices will be $5 for 10 tickets, $10 for 20 tickets, $20 for 40 tickets and so on. These raffle tickets can be purchased at the door and children can bring a parent or be dropped off as well. Games, prizes, food, and raffle baskets will range from 2-5 tickets each. Come support the Sophomore Class and celebrate the winter season on the 16th of January from 10:00-12:30 am! See you there!
