Coaching Training
Anna gave us a fantastic resource that teachers can use as an aide memoir for delivering inspiring lessons. It is a booklet jam-packed full of ideas to engage learners and deliver fun lessons. The booklet can be found within the TLHub CityBit page here.
Well done!
Our second cohort currently in training in order to fulfil their role as a subject mentor to teachers completing their teacher training includes: Andy Dibb, Bob Henley, Rachel McCarthy, Leyla McGinn and Andrew Smith.
Being trained as an observer is an excellent way to help improve your own teaching skills. Please contact Hayley Ryan if you are interested in being part of the next cohort to be trained.

STaRS Feedback Survey
Thank you to all of you who completed the STaRS survey, which was featured in the last newsletter. We have used this information to plan our next steps in terms of training and system build.
A fantastic 95% of you are using the system! We continue to work behind the scenes to make sure that the system is easy for you to use, reduces your workload and gives us a reliable tool to assess students at risk of not being successful on their programmes.
Developmental Observation Outcomes
Thank you to those of you who have already completed the survey on developmental observations (if you have been observed). If you have not already completed it and you have been observed, please use the form below to let us know you views.
In terms of assessing strengths and areas for improvement in teaching, learning and assessment overall, the following are outcomes:
Strengths
- Planning and preparation for lessons
- Having a positive environment for learning
- Classroom management
- Personal development, behaviour and welfare of learners
- Learner engagement
Areas for Improvement
- Learner profiles
- Differentiation
- Assessment for learning
December Developmental Observations and Learning Walks
This month, the following teams will be developmentally observed:
- 7th December: Psychotherapy/ Foundation Learning
- 14th December: ESOL
The themed learning walk for the whole of December has a focus on TUTORIALS. We want to get a measure of the consistency of tutorials in the college. Janna Anderson is leading on this theme.
