Kids Reading Across Rhode Island

The 2016 Kids Reading Across Rhode Island selection is Roller Girl, by Victoria Jamieson. Mark your calendar for the May 7th kick-off event at the State House!

SRP Performer Booking Meeting

Materials for the February 9th booking meeting will be emailed this week. You can also find booking meeting documents here. Registration for the children's booking meeting and the YA booking meeting are now open.

Voucher Reminder

Just a reminder that you should have received your voucher for PR materials. The PO # for the vouchers is 3446262 and can be entered at the top of the voucher. Orders using the vouchers must be placed before January 29. If you have not received your voucher or have any questions please contact Jeremy.

Rhode Island Teen Book Award

Voting for the RI Teen Book Award has opened! Teens in grades 7-12 can cast their vote at their school or public library.

New Rhode Island Children's Book Award Webpages

Information about the RI Children's Book Award can now be found on the OLIS website. Voting for the 2017 award will take place February 1-March 4.

Media Smart Libraries: Computer Coding with Scratch

Wednesday, Jan. 27th, 4-6pm

Narragansett Pier Middle School

Presenter(s)/Discussion Leader(s): Steve Heath and Nick Logler, FabNewport

Learn the fundamentals of computer coding using Scratch and Scratch Jr., free web-based software programs. FabNewport’s team will have you coding in no time. They will also coach librarians on best practices to implement coding programs and serving patron needs. We recommend you bring your own laptop but Chromebooks will be available.

This workshop is part of the Media Smart Libraries program which was made possible in part by the Institute of Museum and Library Services. Attendance at this workshop could be applied to either the Access and Use or the Create and Collaborate digital badge. For any questions or concerns, please contact Mary Moen, Program Director.

Registration required. Limited to 27 participants.
