Wrightstown Elementary School
May 14, 2021
We had a busy but fun week that included Spirit Week, class pig races, and the virtual Diversity Circus assembly! The students enjoyed a variety of relay races and activities. I would like to thank Mrs. Hart and Ms. Smith for planning this event for students! Additional pictures will be shared soon! To go along with the week, students had a blast cheering on their class pig! Please enjoy the race videos included in this newsletter. I would like to thank the PTO for providing a virtual assembly opportunity this year. The Diversity Circus shared an important theme: We are all the same but we are all different. Be sure to ask your child about it!
I would like to wish everyone a great weekend!
Beth

Important Information from Dr. Fraser
Dear CR Elementary Parents-
During the 2021-2022 school year, Council Rock School District will offer two (2) program models for our elementary students.
The first program model will be the traditional classroom model. Students enrolled in this program will attend school in person 5 days a week. If the Governor of Pennsylvania continues to order the wearing of masks, students in the traditional classroom model will be required to wear masks as per the Governor's order. Also, students enrolled in the traditional model will not have the option to live stream into their classrooms if they need to be absent from school.
The second program model being offered is the District Cyber Program. Students enrolled in this program will attend school virtually 5 days a week. Each grade level classroom may consist of students from different elementary schools in the District. Students in the District Cyber Program will receive all instructional materials, including a Chromebook. They will attend elementary specials virtually with their cyber classroom peers. The students enrolled in the District Cyber Program will receive supplemental services such as literacy support, math enrichment, gifted support, special education services, and speech support virtually. However, they may join some students in the traditional model via live streaming to effectively group students by needs. Please click the link below to learn more about the District Cyber Program.
2021-22 Elementary Cyber Program Learning Model
Should you, as a parent, choose the District Cyber Program for your child, you will have the opportunity to switch from that program to the traditional classroom model at the end of the second marking period in January 2022. If you select the traditional classroom option for your child, they will remain in that program for the duration of the 2021-2022 school year with no option to switch to the cyber program.
On Monday, May 17, 2021, you will receive an email with an electronic form that includes unique links for each child in your family who is currently in grades K-5. You will use the unique link for your child to select which program you would like them to be enrolled in for the start of the 2021-2022 school year.
We ask ALL families to select their enrollment decision for the 2021-2022 school year by June 1, 2021.
The information provided in this communication should assist with your decision for your child. If you have further questions, please contact your building principal.
Thank you-

Health & Safety Plan Recess Updates
At last week's Board Meeting a motion passed to amend the current Health and Safety Plan to reflect the following:
-Students do not need to wear masks as long as they maintain sustained physical distance
-There is no temperature criteria
-It does not require exertion or some degree of physical activity
Please click HERE to read the updated version of the plan.
New Student Registration
If you have a new student coming to Wrightstown Elementary next year, please be sure to register your child by June 1st. If you register by this date, your child will definitely attend WES. Please let any neighbors know who may not be receiving CR information.
If you happen to register after 6/1 for a grade level that is already at maximum capacity, your child may need to attend another Council Rock School.
Council Rock School District utilizes a secure online portal for parents to enroll their child. Children must be five (5) years of age on or before September 1st for the school year you are registering. Click the link below to start the registration process for your child.
If your child is already a student at WES, there is nothing else you need to do.
Saturday Vaccine Clinic at CR South For ANYBODY 12 & Up
Dear Council Rock School Community -
Please see below regarding vaccines being provided Saturday, May 22 at CRSouth High School by Village Shires Pharmacy. There are plenty of slots available. Any individual 12 or over is welcome to utilize the link to sign up for an appointment. It is NOT limited to CRSD students or employees.
PLEASE NOTE: If you are receiving your SECOND DOSE of the vaccine on May 22, you DO NOT need to click the link – your appointment is confirmed for the same time you had the first dose on May 1st. Please come at that time. BRING YOUR VACCINE CARD WITH YOU FROM THE FIRST DOSE.
A local pharmacy has contacted the school district about making Pfizer vaccinations available for students who are 12 years of age or older. Based on anticipated numbers, doing so at the pharmacy would be problematic, so this will be conducted at Council Rock South. In addition to students, the pharmacy will provide the vaccination to any friends or family members over the age of 12 interesting in getting the vaccine.
- Appointments will be open for Saturday, May 22 from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM at Council Rock High School South.
- If this is the first dose, participants need to be available for a second dosage in 21 days (June 12).
- These vaccinations will be available whether you are insured or uninsured. If you are insured, PLEASE BRING YOUR INSURANCE CARD WITH YOU
- A parent will need to sign granting permission on the appointment scheduling link (below) for anyone under the age of 18.
- Appointment slots are limited so please schedule an appointment as soon as possible.
- This is completely voluntary. It is not a requirement of the Council Rock School District.
- This will take place at CRS, NOT at the pharmacy.
- Please make note of documents noted within the link that are required. Without them, the vaccine cannot be administered. EVERYONE MUST BRING ID.
Council Rock is providing this information to you as well as the facility use. However, the district is very appreciative of this service which is being provided solely by Village Shire Pharmacy. In order to schedule a vaccination, please access this link provided by the pharmacy:

For questions about this vaccine clinic, please contact Donna Dolan at ddolan@crsd.org or 215-944-1065.

Friendly Reminders
- When dropping off or picking up your child (ren) at the gym entrance, please make sure that you pull all the way up to the end of the sidewalk, past the gym entrance. This can help lighten the traffic on Penns Park Road.
- It is important that cars do not block the flow of traffic when picking up at the end of the day. Please do not block buses and cars from having the ability to exit the campus.
- Masks must be worn when on-site, approaching the building. Thank you for your attention to this requirement.

VISIT OUR NEW PARENT/STUDENT TECHNOLOGY RESOURCES SITE
Council Rock families are invited to visit our brand new Parent/Student Technology Resources Site. The site was created with our families in mind. In visiting there, you will find tutorials, troubleshooting tips, Chromebook information, and important technology updates. The new Parent/Student Technology Resources Site is located within the CRSD Reopening Hub. Please take a moment now to visit the site by clicking on the link below.
Chromebook Support
Students/parents should use our help desk system at the following link: https://crsdstudent.sherpadesk.com
The system will allow students/parents (student ID is required to submit a ticket) to submit a ticket for help. It will also allow them to see the status of existing tickets.
The first time they use the system, they will need to set up their account. This will require a unique email address, the location where the student attends school (this is a required field), their first and last name, a phone number where they can be reached (if additional/different contact information/preferences are desired, they can be included in the body of the request), the type of issue (called class on the form - this is also required), the student ID (this is required), a subject or brief description of the issue, and then the details about the issue.
To see the status of a ticket that was submitted, they can click on that option, log in with their email address and password (set during account creation).
We will continue to monitor the chrome support email address but will refer parents/students to the ticketing system if they have an issue or problem that needs to be resolved.
The two biggest advantages to this system are that the ticket will go directly to a technician, and the parent/student will be able to see the status of the tickets they have entered.
