The Pizitz Post
For Students, Parents & Families - September 20, 2021
Monitoring Student Absences
- If you need a pre-approved absence for your child, please complete the form on our website under the students & families resource tab. Here is the link.
- If your child's absence came up announced due to an illness or emergency, we will need a written note or email to show proof of excused absences within three days of the absence.
- Our teachers are being diligent to record student tardies and absences within each class period. You will be able to see these in Powerschool.
- If a student has unexcused absences, we are required to monitor those and communicate with you regarding those absences.
Reminders from the Front Office
- We do not allow checkouts after 2:30 in the afternoon. Please be mindful of our checkout procedures posted on our website here.
- We all work hard to teach our students to be self sufficient, but at times even the most responsible people forget something. If you need to drop off an item for your student, please make sure it is clearly labeled and if your student doesn't already know its coming, let the front office staff know. An email will be sent to your student letting them know something was dropped off.
- Do not drop off food of any kind for your student.
- We are beginning to collect a number of lost items. Please make sure anything your student brings to school is clearly labeled.
A few things to note...
- Our PTO has worked to create a Teacher Feature highlighting our faculty. You can get to know your child's teachers through the About Us tab on our website. Here's the link.
- As discussed last week, grades are a communication tool to indicate student's learning. Now that parents have access to Powerschool, you should be able to see whether or not your child has incomplete assignments. We would like for you to partner with us in reminding students to make up assignments missed after being absent. Teachers work with students to ensure they are able to make up their work in a timely fashion after being absent.
- Students, take ownership of your learning. Meet with your teacher to find a time to complete assignments and/or ask questions if you need support.
