Heritage Bears
February 2016
Principal's Message
Dear Heritage Intermediate Families,
The students and staff at Heritage Intermediate are excited about all of the great activities we have planned for February. The month of February would be a great month to join your child for lunch in the cafeteria, assist with the Valentines Service Project Party, attend a PTA meeting, visit the PTA Book Fair, or nominate a staff member for a Bear Hug! The following activities take place during February:
*National Counselor’s Week!: February 1—5: The National School Counseling Week theme for this week is “School Counseling: The Recipe for Success.” We want to thank Dr. Hampton and Mrs. Grant for their many contributions they make to our school each week!
*Character Word of the Month—Cooperation: Character Education is an important aspect of our curriculum at Heritage Intermediate. During the month of February we are emphasizing the character trait of COOPERATION! Cooperation means we are able to work with others to accomplish a task!
*National Wear Red Day—Friday, February 5! : Heritage will be participating in the National Wear Red Day to help raise money for the American Heart Association. The money we collect during our Jump Rope for Heart fundraising stays right here in Missouri with the American Heart Association!
*Valentine Service Project Parties—Thursday, February 11: Over the last five years the focus of our Valentine Party has been for each classroom to develop a service project where students use the party time to serve others. We use the party time to have a great party and serve others!
*PTA Book Fair: February 25—March 2: The PTA Book Fair will be from Saturday, February 27 through Wednesday, March 2. The PTA Bring Someone Special/Grandparent’s Day Event is on Saturday, February 27 from 9:00am to 11:00am!
*PTA Bear Hug Nomination: During the month of February students and parents can nominate a staff member who has made a positive impact in their life! We announce the BEAR HUG recipient of the month during our morning announcements at the end of each month. Nomination forms are available at school or on the PTA website.
The staff members at Heritage Intermediate want to thank our parents for partnering with us to make Heritage an incredible school for every student!
Sincerely,
Dr. Todd Kraft
