**SOUTH GYM DOORS NOW OPEN FROM 6:10 A.M. - 6:45A.M. TO ALLEVIATE THE DARK DROP OFF BY THE TENNIS COURTS**

Success in both sports making it a great time to be a COLT!

On Monday night the basketball season officially tipped off and did so in style! 7th grade got an A & C team win vs Coppell East and the 8th grade A team pulled off a miracle comeback win in OT - 52-50!!! I was able to work the clock for the 7th grade and I was extremely pleased with the amount of enthusiasm, and coachability they showed.

On Tuesday XC traveled to CHHS to compete against all of the other GCISD schools. 7th grade A & B teams dominated the course and won district. When comparing our top 10 or so B team times, to the field of A team runners, many of our boys would be A team runners for ALL of the other schools. Of our approximately 60 runners in 7th grade, half had PRs(Personal Record). The 8th grade boys also had a great showing and took second on A & B. Many of those boys also had PRs. We have one more meet to go to showcase our hard work and efforts, but this time the field is bigger, with all 9 zone teams at Bob Jones Park.

7TH GRADE C TEAM PLAYER OF THE GAME - AIDAN SHIMMICK

The C game came down to the final minute of play. Aidan secured a crucial loose ball, drove down the court, and scored an unassisted layup to ice the game for us. This play was a direct response to a loose ball earlier in the game he did not secure; a sign that Aidan is responding well to his coach and willing to make changes to help the team chase excellence.

7TH GRADE B TEAM PLAYER OF THE GAME - CADE LEVERETT

Our team needed to control the ball and run the offense efficiently. Minus a few mistakes, Cade led the team in both of these categories and played hard.

7TH GRADE A TEAM PLAYER OF THE GAME - JACKSON WAGGONER

In a game that hinged on the Colt guards taking care of the ball and scoring in transition, Jackson contributed a total of 23 points. Not only did he score; Jackson played tough defense in both half court and full court situations.

8TH GRADE C TEAM PLAYER OF THE GAME - MATTHEW PIRRELLO

Matthew battled all night long on offense and defense and lead his team in scoring with 5 points. Although they came up short against East, Matthew will help lead his team in the right direction moving forward.

8TH GRADE B TEAM PLAYER OF THE GAME - CALEB VALENTINE

Caleb led the team with 16 points including 3/6 from behind the 3 point line. In a hard fought game that game down to the last possession, Caleb helped lead the team back from a 24-16 deficit to give his team a chance in the final minute.

8TH GRADE A TEAM PLAYER OF THE GAME - HUDSON BREWER

In a total "team" effort the A team battled back from being down 25-11 at halftime to earn a huge win in overtime. The team scoring was spread out pretty evenly, but Hudson (who had 9pts. on the night) commanded the team as the point guard and hit a clutch 3 in OT to lift his team to the win.
