Thank you for all of the donations for Education Appreciation Week! Our committee has an amazing week planned to spoil our staff next week. We are providing them with meals and treats throughout the week. If you would like to show extra appreciation to our staff next week, here are some ideas that coordinate with what our committee has planned.

Tuesday, May 5: Make a card for your teacher.

Thursday, May 7: Make a card for a specials teacher or other staff member.

Friday May 8: Bring in a flower for you teacher or a staff member.

Thank you for helping our staff feel special!

Next fall, the library will be unveiling the Shark Studio - our very own MakerSpace! This is going to be a place we will use during library specials to help us showcase our learning and explore STEAM topics like engineering and computer programming. If you know about MakerSpaces, then you know they require LOTS of supplies. It is not a craft area, but there are definitely times when crafty supplies come in handy during building and construction.

We are seeking donations of: EVERYTHING! Legos, K’Nex, Cardboard tubes (toilet paper and paper towel), yarn, cardboard boxes (cereal, etc.), scissors, glue, random craft items (puff balls, feathers, popsicle sticks), crochet hooks, knitting needles, pipe cleaners, egg cartons. If you can repurpose it, we want it! :) Please send all donations to the library.

LPS elementary teachers Danny Todtfeld and Matthew Krohne are hosting Camp Invention this summer July 13th-17th. Camp Invention is a national one week summer program focused on creativity, innovation, problem solving, and invention. It’s a great opportunity for your students to experience science, technology, engineering, and math enrichment. Camp will be held at Liberty Oaks from 9:00am-3:30pm each day. Informational flyers will be coming home with students soon. In the meantime check out the Camp Invention website or contact Matthew Krohne directly with any questions.

Just a reminder as we begin the class placement process for the 2015-2016 school year that we do not accept personal request for teachers. However if you feel that there is specific information that you would like us to consider, please submit your information in writing to Principal Gabriel here. Also if you know that your family is moving and you will NOT be attending Schumacher next year, please send an email to Admin Asst Hattie Cummings here.

Summer Adventure 2015 is scheduled to take place from June 1st-June 26th. You can find detailed information about Summer Adventure, including the link to enroll online, by clicking here. This is a great opportunity for students of all ages, including incoming Kindergartners for 2015-2016.
