Great CA ShakeOut

At 10:20 a.m. on October 20, 2016, millions of Californians will “Drop, Cover, and Hold On” in The Great California ShakeOut, the state’s largest earthquake drill ever! All K-12 schools and districts have been encouraged to participate in the drill.

The ShakeOut is our chance to practice how to protect ourselves, and for everyone to become prepared. The goal is to prevent a major earthquake from becoming a catastrophe for our community. Why is a “Drop, Cover, and Hold On” drill important? To respond quickly you must practice often. You may only have seconds to protect yourself in an earthquake before strong shaking knocks you down, or something falls on you.

Supervision Tune-Up

I met with most TAs and 1:1s this week to discuss playground rules and expectations. We reviewed trouble spots and finding our 'inner mom voice" to make sure we are correcting and redirecting students when needed. I reinforced the strong belief that it truly takes a village to model, mold and shape our LP "littles" to be positive and productive citizens now and in the future.
