the way to find the volume of a prism or cylinder is V=Bh. all prisms are named after their base shape. the hight of any prism is the amount of layers in it.

the B of a shape

the B of a shape is the area of the base. the B of a cylinder is ~r2. the B of a triangle is bh/2 or 1/2bh. the B of a rectanguler prism is lw or bh.

Volume in a shape is always cubic units.B also represents the number of cubic units on the first layer.
