Te Karere a te Tumuaki - Principal's Message
Kia ora e te whānau. A week and 2 days down already! A highlight has definitely been jumping onto the morning google/zoom meet ups with classes - so cool to see everyone and listen to the interactions between teachers and students. I did have a chuckle about the question "What are New Zealand's three official languages?", first answer: rugby! Love it.
There have been hundreds of very cool Seesaw posts coming through the feed from students and we are impressed with how creative and engaged everyone is. Our main message to whanau continues to be - manage what you can with the resources you have. Any opportunity for your tamariki to get outside and help or play is gold, make the most of it. Keep an eye on Seesaw, Google Classrooms & Facebook for activity ideas. New learning contracts will go out on Monday morning. Not all tasks need to be completed, just do what you can manage. If you are having problems with your Seesaw please get in touch with your childs' teachers and they will help.
Our Friday assembly has been pre-recorded. Please see the link below to watch it. The link has also been posted on Seesaw and Facebook.
Once we know the outcome of today's level announcement, we will share our plan for moving to alert level 3 - early indications are that it may look a little different to last year's level 3 requirements, but the Ministry of Health will provide guidance around that.
My stars of the week this week are our parents and caregivers. A massive thanks to you all for helping your children at home with their tasks. We know it isn't easy, especially when you are trying to work yourself. You are all doing a great job - hang in there, hopefully we can have your kids back at school soon.
Ngā manaakitanga,

Scarecrow Fair Plant Stall
Our plant stall has gained quite the following over the years, but we need plenty of plants in order to maintain it’s stellar reputation! All types of plants sell well - veges, herbs, shrubs, flowers and natives - we’ll take any you can spare! We are also keen to sell indoor plants, given their current popularity - any cuttings gratefully received. Message Kat on 022 425 7760 if you need any potting mix or pots, or if you’d like some help with potting up.
