Students will vote in 3 rounds for determining the best overall book.

November 9-13, 2015-10 books to final 5 books

November 16-20, 2015-Winner selected from the final group

Mr. Calderon and I will each purchase the winning book for the library selection and student drawing before winter break. We will also insure at least 1 copy for each of the finalists is included in the library collection. The winning book will also be the first selection of the Yellowjacket Literate Book If there is enough interest in restarting it second semester.

The Colton High School library has recently purchased 6 new databases for academic research. These consist current up-to-date, reliable peer reviewed information such as academic journals, career/college guides, literary criticisms, magazine/news articles, primary sources, and videos to name a few. The online resources include a 2016 Debate Portal, Literature Reference, Opposing Pts. of View, Power Search, Student Resource, and Testing/Reference Center.

You will access these sites by clicking on the Library Catalog link at the Colton High School library. I typed the password in bold letters right above the databases themselves. You may use these at school or home for completing class assignments. Take a look at the tutorial links on the right hand corner of the library catalog on the best ways to utilize these resources.
