Introduction
The leatherback turtle is the largest of all living turtle and is the fourth-heaviest modern reptile behind three crocodilians. It can easily be differentiated from other modern sea turtles by its lack of a bony shell. Its carapace is covered by skin and oily flesh.
Why they matter?
The leatherback turtle are very special animals as it can dive into the deep sea and dive 1.2 km deep. The leatherback turtle’s lifespan is up to 50 or more years.

Threats
The threats of the leatherback turtles are humans catching them to kill and for food.When the leatherback turtles lay eggs it will most likely be eaten by birds or dogs and human will take them and sell.
Conservation
We can make the amount of leatherback turtles increase by not taking away their eggs and protect their eggs from the dogs and birds.
