What's Going on This Picture?
New York Times Photo of the Week
Each Monday during the school year, The New York Times releases "Intriguing Times images stripped of their captions -- and an invitation to students to discuss them live." These images are thought provoking and excellent writing prompts. They've been pinned on Pinterest hundreds of times and are great for Visual Thinking Strategies. Students can apply the same strategies to their writing. Each picture walks you through what you can do in the classroom to facilitate learning. At the end it does tell you what is going on in the picture. :)
