Practical Nursing - Full-time Class
Joshua Roland (HVAC program) and Destrie Smeal (Auto Diesel) program, began Internships in May while enrolled in their respective career training programs.
Joshua is working at Waltower Enterprises as a Service Technician, while also assisting in occasional HVAC duties at his employment at Homewood.
Joshua Brumbaugh, Welding Program, began an internship with McLanahan's, working as an Assembly Welder, on April 17th.
As adult internship students, they have demonstrated that they have reached a level of competency that allows them to continue their hands-on training at a worksite. We are proud of their accomplishments, and know they will find continued success!
Healthcare Career Fair
On June 29th, a health career fair was held at the GACTC for current adult health sciences students and alumni, including students and alumni from our practical nursing, medical assistant, and phlebotomy programs. More than 30 employers attended to promote their organization’s open positions! GACTC students have been preparing references, resumes, cover letters, and growing their professionalism skills, which they were able to put to good use at the career fair.
Employers that attended represented area hospitals, long-term care facilities, home health agencies, and rehabilitation centers. They were eager to share their opportunities with our locally trained workforce, and students and alumni were able to explore the opportunities available here in our area counties.
Employers may share job opportunities with us to disseminate to our students and alumni using this form.

April was National Welding Month!
Since 1996, the American Welding Society has designated the month of April as National Welding Month to bring awareness to the welding industry and its available career paths. The GACTC is an Accredited Test Facility through the American Welding Society.
