On August 28, 2015, Assam was hit by floods caused by the constant rains caused the level of Brahmaputra river to rise , causing eight persons to die. The rising Brahmaputra river and its tributaries have flooded 19 districts promoting the army to launch relief operations. The flooding had caused a lot of damage to roads, bridges, houses, embankments, and a large number of lakh people were evacuated into 177 relief camps in the area.
This relates to the course because a flood is a natural disaster caused by the rising levels of water.
