Animal Cruelty

The Law and How to Report It Correctly

Meet Sheila McGee, Certified Animal Advocate

Sheila will present an overview of animal cruelty law and provide practical advice on gathering evidence to present to authorities, as well as information on who to contact for help.

Crimes against animals often go unpunished because they are not reported. Others that are reported are often not pursued because evidence is gathered incorrectly. In addition, laws pertaining to animals are misunderstood, even by authorities who are charged with enforcing them. For that reason, those who care about animals need to be familiar with the law, as well as how to best present evidence and eyewitness accounts of cruelty and neglect.
