Blossoms Mission Statement
A Note from the Director
We are off to a wonderful start. It has been such a joy getting to know your children and hearing and seeing what they are learning in class. As a reminder, it is important to get your student(s) to school on time. So much is missed when they arrive late. Second, please do not forget to review the skills your child should know before leaving preschool. This was given to you in the parent handbook. This month's focus will be on counting and quantifying. You want to check to see if your child can count to 10 and count objects to 10 with no mistakes. If this is not something they can do, then please make that your focus this month. On another note, I am sure you are well aware that there is a shortage of bus drivers. Pre-K is not mandated by the state to have bus service and unfortunately are the last to be assigned bussing. We have been informed that once a driver has been identified they will let us know. Thank you for your patience.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Walton

DECA Social Emotional Screener
Parents we want to focus on our students' social and emotional skills. These skills include persisting at challenging tasks, making good decisions, and working well in groups. The tool we will be utilizing is called the Devereux Early Childhood Assessment, or DECA, which was developed by the Devereux Center for Resilient Children. This tool asks teachers and parents to rate how often a child has demonstrated specific social and emotional skills in the past month.
As parents and guardians, we would appreciate your participation in ensuring your child is developing social and emotional skills by completing the e-DECA Assessment using the link sent to your email from noreply@kaplanco.com. The information gathered from the e-DECA will be beneficial to your child’s overall success both inside and outside of the classroom, we value your voice and look forward to working with you.
