Principal Newsletter
From the Desk of Mrs. Riley
April 2, 2020
Dear Parents,
This Sunday we celebrate Palm Sunday when Jesus entered Jerusalem knowing that soon he would lay down his life for our sins. The crowds who cheered him would soon turn on him. The disciples ran away when things got difficult. This is most certainly the challenge we face this Palm Sunday. Are we the kind of friends that follow Jesus only when times are good? Or are we prepared to follow him through the difficult times that we as individuals, as Catholics and as a nation are experiencing right now? To help us face this difficult challenge Mrs. Chirico will be holding a special meeting of her Rosary Club this Thursday at 12:00 PM where she will lead our school community in praying the rosary. Please join us if you are able.
Below are a few updates and reminders:
- The last day of Virtual Classes before Easter break will be Tuesday, April 7th. Virtual Classes will resume on Tuesday, April 14th.
- Please join our school community as we celebrate a Prayer Service on Wednesday, April 8th. The Prayer Service will be released at 12:00 PM.
- Virtual co-curricular classes are now held on Fridays for all grade levels. Please look for assignments to be posted on the school website under a separate tab by Thursday evening.
- At this time, April tuition payments may be mailed directly to the school or you may send in payment via your bank´s bill payer option. Emergency grant money is available for those families who may qualify. Please reach out if you would like more information.
Thank you for your constant support and prayers for our school. I encourage you to continue to support our work as we advance our mission to provide a transformative education steeped in academics and faith to our deserving students. There is no greater investment for forming our future saints than a Catholic education!
Please carefully review this week's newsletter for many reminders and updates. We thank you for entrusting your children to us and for the sacrifices you make each day to send your child(ren) to Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic School.
God’s Peace,
Mrs. Barbara Riley
