My 2014-2015 School Year
" The Year I learned things I never knew I needed to know!"
Devin Jansen, Faist period 2
A Successful Year
This year, I learned a lot not only about myself, but the way I look at life, and how I live it. Being a 7th grade girl going through life hoping for best is not the easiest job ( trust me :) ). I learned a lot about myself and the people I want to surround myself with. I learned that it is ok to stand out and be a different color, and to be yourself around everyone. I also found out who was really there for me as a friend, and who I could trust. Now, I not only feel that I can change the world, but re-shape it into a place that our future generations are proud to call home.
Why Change the World? This video is a great example of how a small idea can make a large imapct.
Making a world of difference
Be a different color!
It is ok to stand out and be who you really are, and to be a different color
Friendship is very important!
A friend is someone who you can trust, and be your weirdest self around.
Confidence is Key
Have confidence in yourself and your actions can give you not only respect from others, but self respect.
Genius Hour!
What do I really mean??
During this school year, I learned about myself, how to make a change, and A LOT about friendship. First, myself. During this first year a middle school-er, I found things about myself that I never knew before. I learned that being a different color and an individual doesn't make me weird, it makes me who I am today. I also learned that making a change in the world is VERY beneficial. Whether it's a large change like a beach cleanup, or a small one like a school club, a change is a change. I learned this through Genius Hour, and it really changed my outlook on life and the world. Last but but not least, friendship. This year, I learned who was really there for me and who really cared. Now that I have found the people who I belong with and who I can trust, I am as happy as a clown.
In Conclusion
This year was a blast and went by quickly! Without these valuable lessons, and teachings, I would not be the young woman I am today. I regret nothing, with the exception of a few friend choices. In the incoming years, I am looking forward to reflecting back onto my 7th grade year at CVMS, and saying what a success it was.
