Talk to LA Screenwriter; Be on film
This Saturday - Cool Opportunities
Come for the call - Talk to Hollywood Screenwriter Dina Chapman
The HUSH team will be audio skyping with LA Screenwriter Dina Chapman this Saturday, September 30th at 12:00 PM in the Shire's classroom space at the Zephyr Studio (421 South Main Street, Stillwater).
Ms. Chapman works as a staff writer for CMT’s half-hour comedy “Still the King” and just sold to CMT her hour-long comedic pilot “His Wives and Daughters.” Among her extensive credits, Ms. Chapman wrote, directed and produced “Rhinoskin: the Making of a Movie Star,” a critically acclaimed mockumentary that screened at 17 international film festivals and was selected by The New York Foundation for The Arts and the Tribeca Film Center as one of eight films to “Best Exemplify American Independent Filmmaking.”
Ms. Chapman was recently interviewed on Voices in the Valley about how to write a television series by HUSH students. The HUSH Audio Drama Team is modeling their creative process on scriptwriting methods for episodic television, and so the interview focused on tips from television writing that could be applied to podcast. Ms. Chapman was so impressed with the HUSH Team that she volunteered to be a writing consultant for #HUSHpodcast. Listen to the the first interview on Voices in the Valley by clicking HERE. Join us Saturday to hear more! (And, it's free!)

HUSH Jr: Develop a sci-fi podcast
HUSH - by invite only, but find out how to become involved!
#HUSHpodcast, otherwise known as HUSH, is a sci-fi series written, performed and produced by students in grades eight through twelve. It takes an eclectic team of creatives to produce the show which is first broadcast on the radio program Voices in the Valley before being uploaded onto iTunes, Google Play Music and Stitcher. (The podcast has been downloaded over 7000 times since its release in 2017!)
Our goal with HUSH is to provide as professional an experience as possible to students. In addition to developing writing skills, students learn about industry standards and how to work on a creative team. Joining HUSH is by application and audition only. Many students find HUSH Jr - a podcast spin off of HUSH - a good first step. In HUSH Jr, students learn the key elements of writing an audio script, develop dialogue writing skills, and explore all the components of creating a podcast.
