Back to Basics at BES!
This year, the BES Leadership Team has taken on the challenge to get back to basics. Over the last several years, so much has changed and we are ready to get BACK! You will see many past traditions coming back - both academic based and fun events.
It has been so fun getting back into the swing of things. The building is getting closer and closer to finishing up, although we know that like all remodeling projects there are always little things here and there. We're excited to see new improvements each day.
The Broadmoor staff has been amazing! I just cannot tell you how grateful I am to have this family at school. The first couple of weeks were tough - getting moved back in, everything situated and ready for the students, making sure we had all necessary supplies or trying to find them....they've been troopers! Our teachers and support staff have been so patient as we work through kinks, never once letting their instruction be interrupted. They are truly masters of their craft in making sure the kids are getting everything they need!
I want to thank our kitchen staff for all they've done while the kitchen was getting the final touches - the food has been great and the kids are loving the new recipes and selections! Our office staff has had so many curveballs sent their way and things are settling down with getting use to the new office set up and technology changes. Lastly, our building manager, Kelly, has been a rock star. She's been putting in the time to help everyone in every corner of our building - whether it is in the STEM lab, the Library, the classrooms, the office, or the kitchen...she's there to help!
Broadmoor is BACK and we are Wildcat Ready!
Have a great week!
Cindy Apple, Principal
Assessments This Week!
This week we will have our students taking the Fastbridge assessments. Please make sure your students are in attendance and well rested to take on the days! Please plan to attend our Parent Information Night (see info below) to learn all about these assessments and how they impact your child's success in school!
Attendance Is Key!
Attendance is very important for our students. Even at the elementary age,
being late to school can cause the student to fall behind and arrangements will
have to be made for the student to get caught up.
Attendance in early elementary grades is vital to
building skills needed to build upon in school years later.
We ask for your help in making sure late nights don't turn into tardies and that
vacations are scheduled around the school calendar.
Please work with us to get your kids to school each and every day on time!
Lunch and Snack Reminders!
For daily snacks, teachers will communicate their classroom preferences. If you do send a snack, please make sure they are healthy and nut-free for classrooms with allergies.
Please do not send caffeinated drinks to school for snacks, parties, or lunch.
If you are bringing your child lunch, please remember we do not allow restaurant packaging in our district schools. You are welcome to bring them their favorite, special meal, but please put it in generic containers or repackage it.
Nurse Notes
Reminder-if students bring any type of prescription medication, inhaler, epi pen to school, it needs to be kept in the nurse's office with appropriate Dr form/paperwork. If your student needs an over the counter medication while at school, written communication must be provided via email or paper. Medications are not allowed to be kept in lockers or bags at the elementary level.
Each school year, a new Dr form needs to be provided for health conditions such as asthma, food allergies, etc.
Thank you
