Harvey Green Calendar

Principal's Message

Dear Harvey Green Community,

The first trimester is coming to an end in a few weeks. The students have been working hard on learning new routines, reviewing previous standards, and beginning to master new standards. As the year continues academic expectations will increase. I know that students will continue to put in effort and do their best!

Please be sure to sign up for a conference time with your teacher. All conferences this year will be held over Zoom. It is important to remember to be on time and to have any questions prepared. If you would like to conference with a prep teacher, please contact them directly to set up a meeting.

We are starting to see an increase in number of tardies. Please make sure you are giving yourself plenty of time to get to school. Traffic around school is always tough, especially when it is raining, so please plan accordingly. Being late by even a few minutes is disruptive to your student and the others in the class.

I'd also like to remind you that if your student is sick with any of the listed symptoms on the flow chart please follow the directions listed on number 1. Please email the attendance clerk vluna@fusdk12.net in the front office or call the front office.

Thank you again for your support. If there is anything we can do to help support your child(ren) or family, please feel free to reach out at any time.

Thank you,

Ms. Johnson

Counselor's Corner

I can't believe we're already in November! It is the perfect time to have an attitude of gratitude; it's okay to slow down and reflect instead of constantly rushing towards the finish line. Gratitude is the act of being/feeling thankful, showing appreciation for things big or small and being able to recognize what we have. This leads to positive emotions and strengthening relationships. We want to teach and practice gratitude with our children to instill a positive way of looking at life, to increase resilience, and help them be more thankful for what they have. Modeling behavior is a great way to teach this and if you're up for a challenge, try this 30 Day Gratitude Calendar with your family! There is so much to be grateful for. I am grateful for all of you: parents, our staff, and of course our students! So glad to be part of this community!

Lastly, I am excited to share that FUSD will be hosting a parent workshop "Dealing with Challenging Behaviors" on Monday, November 8th at 6pm. If you're interested, please check out the linked flyer for the zoom link.

With gratitude,

Ms. Huang
