How can my child come to Small?

All documents must be on file by the due date to be eligible
- 1 page Application (all applicants)
- Copy of student report card (non AISD students only)
- Copy of student STAAR and/or ITBS test scores (non AISD students only)
- Attend an essay session (all applicants)

REMINDER: Essay Test Dates
Students applying to the Green Tech Academy on curriculum transfer will choose one of two dates to come to the campus and write the essay:
Essay Test Dates: Saturday, January 16th or Saturday, January 23rd

Please arrive 15-minutes prior to the start time (9:45 a.m.) and plan to walk your student into the Cafeteria (located at the front of the building) to sign in. Students may bring cell phones into the test and may leave as soon as they are finished.
We will have a designated place for parents who wish to wait on campus. Once your child has completed his/her essay, they may leave. We will have additional adults on campus to assist with phone calls and supervision.
You must be checked in by 10:00 a.m.- the doors to enter the testing area will be locked at 10:00 a.m and no students will be allowed to enter the testing site late. If you arrive after 10:00 a.m., please do not disrupt the test administrators, as they will not allow students inside after 10:00 a.m. If this should occur, please call the Academy Office @ 512.841-6734 on the next school day.
If your child requires accommodations for testing, please be sure to submit the Section 504 Accommodation plan or Special Education Accommodation page from the most recent ARD meeting to the Academy Director by Friday, January 15, 2016 (the last day to sign up to take the essay test).
Students should bring two sharpened, # 2 pencils to the test and may bring in water and a healthy snack, if they wish.
The rubric for scoring the essay test is in the Application Information Packet. The format is similar to the 4th grade STAAR Writing test in that students will produce a one-page essay on the prompt of their choice on lined paper.

SAVE THE DATE--Elective Fair Showcase and Course Sheet Distribution
Students will be given a choice sheet specific to curriculum transfers. Choice sheets will be due on Wednesday, March 23rd at Acceptance Celebration from 6-7 p.m.
