Team Meadow Update
Staff Update - October 27, 2019
Z'ville Soccer - 2019 State Champs! Congrats, Coach Noel & Team
Team Meadow,
Thank you for the incredible display of appreciation and support last week. I was truly humbled by your actions of generosity and thoughtfulness. I am truly grateful to be here at The Meadow with each of you. I read each of your letters when I got home on Friday evening. Thank you for the heartfelt and touching words. Between the treats, a clean ride, and your overall kindness, I was left a little speechless. Thank you.
It was a fantastic lead to the weekend.
What an exciting day on Saturday for the ZCS Nation and Zionsville Community..
- As I worked the polls on Saturday morning, I saw many familiar faces of Boone Meadow Families out to vote. Turnout was not overly busy, but it was steady.
- ZCHS Girls Cross Country took 2nd place at state! That's awesome!
- ZCHS Boys Soccer took state championship! Fantastic! Congrats to the team and Mr. Noel
Here are a handful of items to keep in mind for this week.
- Staff lunch (thanks, Bob, for the pork) on Monday
- Lit Coach meeting (12-2:00) & Staff Meeting on Monday in Family Room
- Election Day (Don't forget to vote if you are eligible and haven't already done so.)
- We will be working on finishing touches for the Veterans Day celebration. We will practice together as a group on Friday afternoon at 1:30. Please plan accordingly so we can run through the program together as a group.
- Observations continue to be in full swing this week. Lauren and I will be conducting extended observations (prearranged) and short observations (unscheduled).
Let's have a great week.
Thankful for each of you and all you do,
Tom

Teachers will be able to leave early after school (2:45) on the three other days the week before or after conferences.
A Few Important Reminders:
- Please continue to put in your weekly communications the reminder that 11/14 is an E-Day for Conferences.
- Please schedule and make time to have students practice using Canvas/Single Sign On at school prior to this E-Day for conferences.
- Once it is set, please share a copy of your conference schedule with the front office.
As you well know, conferences provide us with the opportunity to communicate with families face to face on the strengths, goals and areas of growth for students. It allows us to collaborate in support of the individual student's academic and social/emotional development. Preparing for conferences, particularly when students are actively involved in the process, is no small feat. Thank you for your time and talent to allow this to be a meaningful experience for students and their families.

E-DAY REMINDER
With a forecast that includes temperatures near 90 degrees this week, a snow day might be the furthest thing from your mind. However, school cancellations can occur for a variety of reasons- power outages, water main breaks, etc. come to mind. if school were cancelled tomorrow, would you be e-day ready? This year, the first cancellation will activate an e-day and will not be made up in May. Please keep this in mind and make sure you are prepared.
As a reminder, the conference (digital leadership/citizenship) e-day has already been prepared at the district level. This will only be used for conferences. Please make sure you are communicating in your newsletters to families about the November 14th e-day. We have been including it in the Weekly School Smore, but the more places it can be seen, the better!
