AP Research Update
Reminders and Resources
AP Research Projects Make Real-World Connections.
- the recent SpaceX rocket launch and discussion of NASA's role in future space exploration made Jared's research on generational attitudes about NASA especially salient.
- Gerald's research on the economic impact of immigration relates to the current debates about immigration policy & DACA.
- Selena's research on the changes in the treatment of depression and Frankie's research on NFL marijuana policy both take a critical look at the influence of Big Pharma lobbying on drug policy and treatment choices.
- Aidan's research comparing criminalization narratives about African Americans in Southern and non-Southern states during the Great Migration has a direct connection to our present day mass incarceration crisis.
- Closer to home, Robert is investigating the factors that build fan identification and how Atlanta sports teams might use those factors to build their franchises.
