Attention Blood Donors! Help save a life! Anyone 16 and older can donate. If you are 16, you will need your parent's permission. Sign up at the table during lunch. This will be held in the small gym the morning of May 12th.

Friday, May 12th Taco Lunch from RHS Parent and Friend Group

All staff luncheon from our generous Parent & Friend group celebrating Teacher Appreciation Week. A taco lunch will be served 11:00am-1:00pm in the RHS conference room. A huge Thank You to our Parent and Friend Group for providing this treat and many others throughout the school year!!!

Friday, May 12th All School Assembly

All school assembly in the Tiernan Center at 2:50pm. We will be celebrating & recognizing students with a staff skit, Devilette performance, and encouraging students to finish year strong. We will do a Tuesday schedule.

Wednesday, May 17th - RHS Career Ed Awards Program

Career Ed Awards Program - Civic Hall - 9:00am

Thursday, May 18th Graduation Practice

Seniors - have graduation practice periods 1, 2, 3 – do NOT wear your cap/gown.

4 Tickets will be given to each senior for seating of family on the main floor at graduation.

Guest must have a ticket to sit on Tiernan main floor at graduation.

All seating upstairs in Tiernan does not require a ticket for sitting.

Friday, May 19th - Senior Picture and Walk through RHS Halls

Senior Picture and Walk through RHS Halls - 8:45am - all seniors will wear their caps/gowns. Seniors should report to Tiernan Center at 8:15am

Friday, May 19th Honors and Awards Senior Program

Honors and Awards Senior Program - Civic Hall - 9:30am

Seniors are released for the remainder of the day after the conclusion of this program

Final Exams Schedule

Monday, May 22 - English & Social Studies Classes

Tuesday, May 23 - Math, Science, Foreign Language Classes

Wednesday, May 24 & Thursday, May 25 - for students that need extra time per their special education IEP from previous two days.

*All other classes may choose to do final exams on any of the four days above.

Thursday, May 25 - Last student day

Sixth 6 week grading period ends; Second Semester ends.

Laptop collection during 6th period for 11th-12th; 7th period for 9th-10th; students makeup work & finish projects.

RHS Graduation - Tiernan Center - 2:00pm

Seniors report to the RHS cafeteria at 1:00pm

Decorating caps - get approval from Mr. Amyx or Mr. Hensley

Tuesday, May 30th - Summer School Begins

To register for Summer School


1. Select courses for which you would like to register, forms are in the counseling center.

2. Have your counselor sign the form to indicate these classes are appropriate requests.

3. Submit the signed form to your main office with payment.

4. If paying by check, make the check payable to RHS.

Summer School ends on Friday June 23rd.

Lost & Found

Is your student missing a jacket, notebook, lunchbox or misc. items? If so, please have the student stop by the Lost & Found area in the east corner of the cafeteria. Smaller items, such as earrings, glasses or wallets, please check with the staff in the main office. Items not claimed at the end of the school year will be donated to local needy or charitable organizations.
Students may enter RHS at Door #1 on Hub Etchison Parkway starting at 7:45am.

The Career Center Door #37 opens at 7:30am so students may going directly to the cafeteria for breakfast. The tardy bell rings at 8:15am.


If your student is absent, please let us know by calling the attendance office.

Internet Options/eLearning Day Connections

A quick reminder that there are many locations across Richmond, including RHS, that offer FREE Wi-Fi!



Morrison-Reeves Library has free internet available 24 hours per day from their parking lots or around the building. Additional internet sites include Downtown Richmond, Reid Hospital, McDonald’s, Burger King, Roscoe’s, Starbucks, and McAlister’s. Also, all of the RCS school buildings.

Student Parking

Students are to park either in the student parking lot across from the Tiernan Center or on the streets around the school. All other parking lots around the school building are reserved for faculty and staff. Students parking in RHS lots that are reserved for faculty, staff, or visitors risk having their car towed from the site at the owner’s expense. If you have any questions regarding parking at RHS, contact Ms. Rae Woolpy at 973-3314.
