CHS Viking News

June 2022

Dear Viking Families,

We received news a few weeks ago that Coeur d'Alene High School once again ranks near the top of US News & World Report's Best High Schools in Idaho, ranking 3rd among all 5A schools. This is a tribute to the entire Viking Community--certified & classified staff, coaches, boosters, VPN, district officials, feeder schools, students, and parents! Goodness, we are fortunate to be surrounded by so much support.

As the school year comes to a close, we will be engaging in that most time-honored rite of passage: Graduation! This by-ticket only event will take place on Friday June 10th in Viking Court. We look forward to not only seeing our Senior Vikings pass across that stage but watch them as they pass into the world at large where, no doubt, like the Vikings before them, will make the world a better place. Regardless of where they go, however, Coeur d'Alene High School will always be home. As the saying goes, Once a Viking, Always a Viking!

As always, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to us here at CHS!

Once a Viking, Always a Viking!

Mike Randles

Chromebooks, Textbooks & Fines

As we prepare for the end of the school year, we wanted to remind our students that all textbooks and library books must be returned before they leave for the summer, and all fines must be paid.

SENIORS - You MUST have all books and technology returned to the school (textbooks, library books, Chromebooks AND chargers) and all fines paid by Wednesday, June 8th, or you will not be allowed to participate in the graduation ceremony. Graduation tickets and diplomas will also be held until all fines are paid and items are returned. Thank you for your help with getting this taken care of sooner then later!

If you have any questions, please email Tracy Meyers at

Student Chromebooks - END OF YEAR INFORMATION

This year our students will be KEEPING their Chromebooks for the summer! Here are a few details about this process:

  • Seniors must turn in their Chromebooks and chargers by Wednesday, June 8th.

  • If you are not returning to CHS next year, please turn your Chromebook and charger in on the last day of school, or you will incur a fine on your account. FINES are $300 or more, depending on the device, and $20 for lost chargers.

  • If you would rather not keep your Chromebook for the summer, please return it and your charger on the last day of school.

  • If your plans change over the summer, please return your Chromebook and charger to our district office.

  • We recommend you stop into the library sometime before school is out to make sure that you have the Chromebook that was checked out to you. Students will be responsible for the same Chromebook that was checked out to them. We are happy to double-check that you haven't accidentally switched yours with someone else's, which has happened a lot this year. While you are here we'll put a label on it with your name!

If you have any questions, please contact our Teacher Librarian, Ms. Kerr, at Thank you!!

If you share a locker with a student who no longer attends CHS, You will still keep your locker. If you want someone to share with you you can add them on by emailing Please use your school email for correspondence

Senior Memory Boards

It is time to start creating your senior’s memory board! The board is meant to celebrate your child’s journey to graduation. Ideas include baby pictures, first day of school, sports, friends, interests, family, etc. Memory boards will be on display in the CHS Commons on Friday, June 10th and will be taken home by graduates after graduation.

Here is a link with some sample memory boards:

Seniors - Google Accounts Active Until July 30th

Each year, we have many staff and students that leave our district. Fortunately, Google makes it easy to archive or transfer your files as needed with Google Takeout.

For seniors, their accounts are active until July 30th, to give them time to download or transfer files. After this, their accounts will be disabled, and to get access again they will need to contact the technology department.

Need a Transcript?

Please click the link below to learn more about how to request your final transcripts!
