Important Announcements and Reminders
- ISTEP TESTING is next week! We will be testing on Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday! Please make sure your child gets a good night sleep and has a good breakfast before coming to school. We will be testing first thing in the morning.
- Track permission slips are coming home today. Permission slips and money are due on Wednesday, March 9th.
- A HUGE Thank you goes out to all the parents that volunteered for the BizTown Trip! We couldn't have done it without you! Thank you for making this a meaningful experience for our students! It was a great day! Here are a few pictures from the trip:
Language Arts
- Achieve 3000: Students will complete two articles during class this week.
- Students will be writing and publishing an opinion piece next week.
- Students will complete Trifold #9: extra, para, dia, per next week.
Social Studies
- Students shared their Billboard Projects in class today! They all did a great job!
- We will be moving on to Chapter 8: Facing Slavery next week.
Science
Today students took a science test over the Solar System. These will be discussed on Monday of next week. We will be taking a break from science some early next week to focus on some math review. Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday we will have a different schedule of classes as instructional time will be significantly reduced due to statewide testing.
AdvMath 6th Grade (Block A)
On Monday, will be reviewing some math vocabulary and word problems as it relates to next week's statewide testing. We will also be having a multiplication war tournament in class. The top two students from each class will have a pizza party next Friday, March 4. We will not be taking any grades due to ISTEP testing. We will be moving onto equations, variables, and expressions as it relates to algebra.
VMath: 100 minutes is due Sunday @ midnight.
Regular Math BLOCK B
On Monday, will be reviewing some math vocabulary and word problems as it relates to next week's statewide testing. We will also be having a multiplication war tournament in class. The top two students from each class will have a pizza party next Friday, March 4. We will not be taking any grades due to ISTEP testing. We will be doing some review with fractions, but also teach how to divide with fractions and mixed numbers. Once statewide ISTEP testing is finished, students will be turning in their Chapter 11 packet for a 40 point summative grade to end out the third nine weeks.
VMath: 100 minutes is due Sunday @ midnight.
