Under the guidance of Mrs. Felicia Willingham, the CCMS Ambassadors, our Peer Helper Group, and student volunteers are creating displays of famous African Americans. Students will be able to tour this Black History Museum February 21- 28.

Black History Month in Advisory

Students will have the opportunity watch videos on the lives of famous Black Americans and read about notable Black Americans who passed in 2022.


Governor Ivey signed a proclamation making October HBCU month, but we did not have time to plan anything with such short notice.


As part of our Black History Month Celebrations, students will learn about Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) and The Divine 9 Sororities and Fraternities. We have quite an impressive list of faculty and staff who graduated from HBCUs and are part of the Divine 9.


We plan to have an HBCU Spirit Day at the end of the month.
