Friday October 28th
-Join us to celebrate the fun and creativity of Halloween at our FREE Community Halloween Dance from 6:00-8:00pm!
* Fun and active family event!
* Door Prizes for those in life affirming costumes!
* Cash only canteen available, with proceeds going to our Grade 6 year-end trip!
* All are welcome! All students must be supervised by an active adult.
*As the water advisory continues in Sexsmith, please ensure you bring enough safe drinking for your family to enjoy during the dance.
Monday October 31st-
-St. Mary's will host our first ever Halloween STEM Spooktacular from 9:00-11:30am. Parent volunteers will be hosting various Science, Technology, Engineering and Math centres around the school, all with a weird, spooky spin! Thank you to those who have volunteered to help with our centres. We're still in need of a few more volunteers, please contact the office if you're ready, willing and able to help!
-Students will be welcome to dress in costume for the afternoon if they choose. Join us to take in the festivities during our annual Costume Parade in the gym at 1:15pm. Individual classrooms may hold their own class party following the parade, please watch for correspondence from teachers on this. Reminder that all candy brought into the school should be nut free for student safety.
Tuesday November 1st
- All Saints Day! Our Junior High students will host a Saints Fair in the gym, sharing what they have learned about individual Saints! Consider popping by the gym between 9:00-10:15am to enjoy their learning!
Wednesday November 2nd
- All Souls' Day
-"Take Our Kids to Work Day", this longstanding rite-of-passage will see our grade 9 students out of the building to spend the day participating in hands on learning with a family member or friend at their work place! Grade 9 parents, please be sure to send consent forms to school by Nov. 1st.
-Entries for the local Royal Purple/ Legion's Remembrance Day contest are due. Ask your child what they have submitted through the school!
-Pre-orders for hot dog day are due to the office please. Kindly remember to individually label your child's order and send correct change.
Thursday November 3rd
-Hot Dog Day! Our volunteers from Booster Group will be serving hotdogs ($2), treats ($1) and juice ($1), raising funds to help the school!
-Last call for orders for our next MunchALunch, WOK BOX! All orders must be placed on line at https://munchalunch.com/schools/StMarysAB/ and paid for online by midnight, in office by 3:30pm.

Kinder is Ready for Halloween!
On Monday October 31st, 2022 we will have a Halloween STEM Spooktacular morning for the whole school!
STEM stands for Science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. STEM activities and lessons incorporate aspects of all four concepts and are designed to spark innovation and teach students analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills for future careers.
Our STEM spooktacular event will have students circulating through a number of STEM stations and we are looking for volunteers to run the STEM stations! All activities and materials will be provided and prepared, you will also receive instructions on how to run the station.
If you think this is something you would be interested in volunteering for, please contact the school or your child's teacher.

November Parent Teacher Interviews- NOW BOOKING!
St. Mary's November Parent Teacher Interviews will be held on Tuesday November 8th and Wednesday November 9th from 4:00-7:00pm each evening. Interviews will be held in person at St. Mary's Catholic School. Please follow the link below to our SignUp Genius, choose the correct tab for your child's teacher and then select one available time slot on the date that works best for your family.
Our Scholastic Book Fair will be open during PTI's for your browsing enjoyment!
Please contact the office should you require assistance with booking, or contact individual teachers if you will require more time for your interview or need to make other arrangements.

All proceeds are used to help St. Mary's with the "extras", like the climbing wall and gaga pit!
The Booster Group is always in need of volunteers to make programs run. Contact them on facebook, or through the office if interested!
November Munch A Lunch- WOK BOX!
Our next Munch-A-Lunch is now open for online ordering, with lunch to be served by the crowd favorite... WOK BOX! Parents/ guardians can log in to order and pay for lunch before November 3rd, with lunch to be served on Thursday November 10th! Follow this link to log in with your existing information or create a new account if new to the online ordering program.
St. Mary's does not charge base fees for the academic year, however, certain programming does have fees attached.
Fees for our Pre-K and Kinder+ program are due at the beginning of each month.
Junior High Options have been invoiced and emailed to guardians. Please note that statements reflect fees for the whole year, however, only fees associated with Term 1 are now past due.
Extra Curricular and sports teams also have fees attached, and are due before the first event for each team. Volleyball and Cross Country fees are now past due.
Fees can easily be paid online through the PowerSchool Parent portal, or in person in the office. Please don't hesitate to contact the office if you have any questions or would like to make arrangements for payment.

Our Water Bottle Filler remains open for students to stay hydrated throughout the day, Please ensure that ALL students have their own personal water bottle at the school every day.
Nut Aware School
At St. Mary's we have many students with many different allergies, some of which can be life threatening. As such, we ask that students do NOT bring any type of peanut or tree nut products.
Seasons are changing and we are active and outside every day! Please ensure that students come with appropriate outdoor gear, and a change of clothes including hat, extra socks, pants and weather appropriate footwear.
