Elementary Math Curriculum Preview
First Six Weeks
Self Paced Curriculum Preview K-5
The 4 sections below will take you through pertinent information for the first six weeks.
Task #1: Custom Conference Information
August 16th Customized Conference "Tailored to Meet your Learning": Be ready for a great day of learning!
- Watch the 1:37min video for an overview of a Customized Conference (Unconference).
- Think about your professional learning this summer. Example: You went to a great workshop on your content...what are the points that you could share with others? Do you have artifacts that would help show others what you learned?
- Think about a topic you've heard of but would like to learn more about...there will probably be someone at your conference who is an expert!
- Sessions will be held in campus classrooms with a computer, but feel free to bring your own device.
What is an Unconference?
#2 Curriculum Specifics
You will find that the math documents are very similar to last year with improvements through Canvas. They are streamlined and there is an added ease in finding everything you need. There is so much information you will want to take the time to click on the links that you see embedded in the documents.
- Overviews are the main outline for each unit. They provide the backbone for all the details you will want to consider.
- Standards Clarifiers are attached in the unit overviews. Be sure to check these to see the details of the TEKS. Prior knowledge and assessment examples are two pieces of important information you will find.
- Pacing Guides are also attached in the unit overviews. This suggested pace helps to see the amount of time that is allowed for concepts. Use these to guide your lesson planning process.
- Student Tasks and Resources are found in the unit overviews. Keep scrolling down the document to see everything that is included so you do not miss anything important.
- Tier 1 Priorities are found in Yearly Documents. These are district areas of focus that improve instruction for our students.
