Wildcat Web Wrap Up

Wilkinson Middle School, Madison District Public Schools

Fall 2013 Issue 1

by Kimberly Cunningham (resident "techie")

Is it Thanksgiving already????

I have been trying to launch a newsletter about the great online resources to support technology integration here at Wilkinson since last school year. We all have our own collection of online resources tucked away and it is time to bring them into the light and share our wealth of knowledge to improve classroom instruction.

I will publish an edition of this magazine each quarter. Additional Special Editions are also planned to support ongoing class sessions, and/or emerging technologies that we just need to showcase.

This is my inaugural issue and I would appreciate some feedback. I hope you find something you can use in your classroom.

Feature Websites for Fall Quarter 1

Find your Digital Self

Creating an avatar to represent your image is safe, fun and easy. You can use your "digital self" in place of an your actual photo on many social media websites like: email, gaming tags, blog/bulletin board posts, and even your cellphone. Just remember to save the avatar as a jpeg and you can upload the image in your profile to many social media websites.

Educational Technology Blogs on the Web

Keeping up on new educational technologies on the web is a daunting task. There are several great educator blogs that I read. Here are a few that really have a user-friendly format and contain great articles about integrating technology in the

k-12 classroom:
