Osprey Weekly
November 13, 2020
Dear LES Families,
As of this week, we still have a number of families that have not completed the SMCPS Acceptable Use Policy Agreement. Only 50% of LES students have completed the agreement. This agreement should be completed for each student even if the student has not been issued an SMCPS device. Please complete by Tuesday, November 17th. Thank you.
If you have not done so already, please complete one for each of your students.

If your family has not received a device and you were awaiting the return to hybrid learning to receive it, you may call the school and schedule a time to pick up your device. Daily pick up time is 9:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m.
Celebrating American Education Week: Each week in November, we celebrate American Education Week prior to Thanksgiving week. Every year we look froward to honoring public education and the many individuals who make a difference in ensuring students receive a quality education. American Education Week is a wonderful opportunity to encourage our collaboration and partnership with families.
During this incredibly unusual and often stressful school year, it is even more important that we celebrate the team of people at our schools., including our teachers, administrative and support staff, food and nutrition employees, substitute teachers, and so many more. At the same time, our families are working closer with us to ensure our students succeed with virtual learning. As part of American Education Week, Wednesday, November 18th is Educational Support Personnel Day (ESP). ESP staff includes secretaries, health room staff, ParaEducators, custodians, and food service staff. We are encouraging families to use the Padlet LINK HERE to send a message of gratitude to the Leonardtown Elementary School ESP staff. Additionally, Friday, November 20th is Substitute Teacher Day. We could not possibly operate our school without the dedication of our cadre of amazing substitute teachers. We look forward to our families getting involved in the spirit of the week. Together we can move forward in empowering each of our students to achieve and thrive.

Bus Rider Update
We are working with SMCPS transportation to ensure students are safely picked up and dropped off at the correct location. We have found that in most cases where there is a transportation issue it is because there has been a change in childcare or the pick-up location from last year.
Thank you for your support.
