Hello from Ms. Witley

Dear Selby Families,

Welcome back to school and a new year! If there is anything we learned in 2020, it is that life can send us unexpected events. It is times like these that help us focus on what's important, be grateful for the things and people in our lives, and know that we are stronger and braver than we thought we were. I would like to thank our families for your continued support through this unique school year.

The Provincial Government has announced that all students will continue with virtual/remote learning at home until January 25, 2021. I have been so impressed with the hard work of our staff to pivot to this new way of learning, but also with our students! We know this wouldn't be possible for many of our students without the support from their families at home. Thank you! I am very proud of the amazing teaching and earning that is happening and will continue to happen over the next 2 weeks.

If you realize that you now need a Chromebook to be able to access the learning, please call the school and we will arrange pick-up. We are still waiting on hot spots for those that have indicated they need internet. Thank you for your patience.

Please lean on each other and your school community - we really are in this together. If there is something that you need that we can help with, please don't hesitate to reach out. Here's wishing you all a wonderful 2021, and we look forward to seeing everyone online and eventually in person.

This Friday, Jan. 15 -

  • Selby Spirit Day - wear your Selby spiritwear or purple and gold, tweet a pic to show your spirit!

Stay safe everyone!

K. Witley, Principal and the Selby Staff

Teachers will be taking attendance each day, by checking to see if students are online during synchronous learning, or by checking to see that students are accessing the asynchronous learning activities. Our teachers know that learning from home may look differently for different families: please don't hesitate to communicate with your child's teacher to discuss your unique situation, and ensure that you are receiving the information and support needed to provide continuity of learning for your child.
