Dear Families,

Today we are finishing state testing for ELA. Next week we will continue with the Math portion of the tests. See below for more information about testing.

Promotion T shirts available to order until this Friday. Order information is included below. This week we also have information about a new math curriculum adoption, the 8th grade field trip, and the latest episode of the MMS News Show.

8th Grade Field Trip

The WSU Gear UP program is sponsoring a field trip for all of our 8th graders to the Museum of Flight in Seattle on June 1. Students received letters last week, that need to be returned by this Friday, May 20. Please see the PDF below for more information.

Math Curriculum Adoption

Our 7th and 8th grade teachers have been piloting three different math programs this year as part of the district adoption process. All three programs are highly rated and meet the needs of our state standards. The teachers have selected a curriculum called EdGems and will be requesting approval for adoption from the school board on Monday. Parents and the community are invited to review the curriculum and provide feedback this week. The materials are available at the district office (1025 S. 1st Ave.) from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. You can also email Assistant Principal Brenda Dunn with any questions (

8th Grade Promotion Shirts

This Friday is the last day to place orders for an 8th grade promotion T-shirt. The design was voted on by the students and it is a way to commemorate this special year. Please go to for more information.

Yearbook Order Information

Our publishing class puts out the annual yearbook as well as the Mustang Minute newspaper. This year's yearbook is a fantastic collection of full-color photos of all 7th and 8th graders as well as ALL sports teams - even spring sports!

Yearbooks are $30 and can be purchased in the office or with the link below. Yearbooks will be delivered to students before the end of the school year.
