The Risk of Water contamination
People who consume fruit or vegetables that were exposed to contaminated water are at risk of developing a food borne illness. People can very sick if they do get a food borne illness and people who are more likely to get sick are infants, young children, pregnant women,and the elderly and it can cause more problems for them because there immune system isn't as strong
Toxins in the Water
We no longer use mercury in thermometers and in fillings but why are we letting people getting it dumped into are rivers. mercury is a deadly toxin that can make animals and humans very sick or it can make the animal or human die. if it still gets into the water it can kill the ecosystem
Nitrates
Nitrates are the biggest problem for water pollution in Iowa because most of Iowas land is farming and nitrates are fertilizers and it runoffs into the lakes,ponds, and rivers and it can start kill fish and other animals
