Library Environment for Finals
Noise: Please refer back to the October newsletter for tricks on keeping the noise at an acceptable level. If someone is too loud, please ask them nicely to quiet down or come to the information desk for assistance.
Study Rooms: Remember, there is a two hour limit. You may sign up for additional time only after your two hours are close to being up and no one has signed up for the room after you. In addition, while snacks are okay in the rooms, larger meals are not. Not only does it sometimes create a mess but the trash can stink up a room that may not be cleaned for a day or two.
Breaks are good!
End of RefWorks
Before that time, you should transfer your citations to a new citation management system or, at the least, export them from RefWorks into a text file for access after 12/1. Exporting the references is really easy. Just follow the directions in this video.
Exporting References from RefWorks and Into Mendeley
The video also tells you how to import into Mendeley. Mendeley is the reference manager and PDF organizer we're recommending to students and faculty after RefWorks goes away. You can create bibliographies, organize references into folders, create citations in Word and even search PubMed. In addition to the desktop application, information can be synced with the web, Apple apps and a beta Android app. Check out these video tutorials for more information.
